What are you wearing today?!

This necklace is really wonderful. The purple shade with the pearls looks cool.

Thanks! It's from Catherine Cardellini. Here's a vendor pic to show it in better light.

Wonderful colors!

Thanks B!

Here's today. Blue akoyas with an aqua top.

This is such a great thread! Thanks for posting all your pearly treasures. Here's what I wore today - baroque tahitians:img_5405.jpg

what color would you describe them as? I bought them from PP when I visited their offices last fall. They are dark bodied with flashes of green and pink. :D

peri -- I love blue akoya. I don't have a whole strand yet... it's on my wishlist.

mapo -- What a great necklace! What are the mm on those babies?

Thanks! They're 8-11mm.

They look much larger on you. What is the length?

bsomlo, it may be the angle? the strand is 17 inches. here's another shot of them. The color is really hard to capture.img_5403.jpg
for size reference, the strands of akoyas are 8-8.5mm and the lavendar fwps are 8-9mm.

Thanks for the info, and for the pearl medley!

You did an excellent job catching the colors in your neck shot. Enjoy and wear them (all) in health.

Mapo, gorgeous tahitians. Is that strand from the latest PP special?

White ripples.

baby monster -- ooh! Look at you twisting those beauties!

And I've been using what I call "the bsomlo closure" when I twist this rope , I.e using strand's own clasp to close it. You get full credit, even if it's only in my mind.

Aaaw, shucks. You're too kind!

My newly-strung pistachio and olive tahitian/silver akoya strand ( I was going for a bit of the ombre effect).
Hard to capture the colours, but here are some pics.

Nice strand and color variation!

Mapo, those are beautiful Tahitians. Can see nice overtones on that strand.

Baby monster, those ripples look fantastic! What sizes are they? Somehow, my neck starts to ache a little when I see anyone wear a long stand of ripples. One strand of ripple is the maximum my muscles can handle. :knockout:

Periwinkle girl, that akoya/ Tahitian strand has great colours! Can't wait to see the end product of your other projects.

Here I am, catching up after a long weekend, loving all the pearls!

bsomlo - Your "fish" souffle is amazing! A true collectors piece and one I'm sure you wear proudly!

Fly Girl - I just love seeing your beautiful T's, especially that cool bracelet!

Confection10 - Your white tin cup is gorgeous! No wonder you layer so much!

periwinklegirl - Thanks for posting so many pearls! You inspire me to wear them more often! Great job on the ombre strand! Oh yeah, what is that ring on your hand with the Akoyas!?!?

mapo - Your baroque T's look great on you - a classic look with beautiful pearls.

baby monster - White ripples twisted - awesome!

Hi pk,
It's my asscher sapphire! Here's a couple of pics. (Sorry everyone, I know this is the pearl wearing thread!).
And here's its thread. https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/speaking-of-holy-grails.185710/

This thread always makes my day brighter :appl: . I love to see everyone's choice for pearls of the day :wavey:

Periwinklegirl; stunning asscher

Today, CC "onions" worn shortened by clasping leaving a "tail" of two pearls hanging down the nape of my neck. I thought this slightly shorter length worked better with my top:

For some reason one strand of pearls just doesn't seem like enough these days. :naughty: I layered my Kamoka Harvest strand in the long form with my Stephen Vincent Design (svstudio.com) labradorite, aquamarine and pearl necklace. Finished off by wearing my Kamoka ring on my right hand. Love the colors in that pearl.

That harvest strand is so gorgeous! I bet it's endlessly fascinating.

Gorgeous pearls, everyone!

What I was wearing today, CC 38" metallic multicolor rope...

cathy_s_metallics.jpg

... and what our rooster, Chicadee was wearing-- 68" CC copper/peach rope!

You know you love pearls when you're dressing the pets in them :wink2:

This is one of my favorite pictures ever! If there was a "picture of the week" for this thread, this would surely be the winner, baby nurse!

He did not appreciate having this done! I'm pretty sure he was thinking "So this is how it all ends..."

B - I do that too. With a basket clasp (on my metallic whites).

Flygirl - love how your pearls look with the black top and gorgeous scarf!

I wore my pistachios again today (but no pic).

These are 11-13mm. The long strand can get tiring to wear after a few hours but twisting makes it very comfortable. This is by far the heaviest strand I own but I've adjusted at this point to the weight. I actually wore it yesterday from 7am to midnight and didn't feel like I had to take it off midday.

Baby nurse, I cannot tell you how much I love that picture. :D
