What color toenail polish to wear with red shoes?

I have been looking for a pretty pair of red shoes for spring/summer. I have found some cute peep-toe contenders, but now I am wondering what color polish to wear on my toes. Pale pink, nude, white, dark blue? Any thoughts, or better yet pictures?? Thanks!

One of my favourite colours which goes beautifully with red is Flamme Rose by Chanel. Its a milky neutral /nude beige, in fact it works well with any colour.

It is and it is a staple in my polish wardrobe, its so versatile, its one of those I never get tired of.

I have never tried a French pedicure before. I do love it for fingernails though! It sounds like a really pretty look for summer.

I have some red opened toed shoes and I love wearing black or charcoal polish. It looks super cool when you have black in your outfit. Sometimes people think of black polish as being goth, but i think on the toes it looks nice.

Otherwise, to be less daring, you can''t go wrong with red.

Thank you for the suggestion! I need more "go to" colors in my collection. So far I have about 35. I like each of them, but I don''t have too many that I really love.

I love dark polishes (I have OPI''s Onyx and Lincoln Park After Dark, Essie''s Wicked)! I think they can look very chic and sophisticated.

I am not totally sold on red with red. Maybe if the colors were really close?

I find hard to find matching reds w/shoes in general, so I would def do the french. Talking about reds...I'm in love with Italian Love Affair it's gorgeous! Black isn't bad either, depending on the personality though.

You could do the french manicure look. Light pink. Or if you want to be spicey you could go with that really dark red. I think that color is super sexy on toes.

I love Lincoln Park after Dark.

Black Cherry Chutney is my go-to colour for being close enough to black to go with everything without crossing the gothy line. Goes well with the red satin peeps I occasionally wear.

I would wear a nude color - but not go nude... like a tan color or something close to your skin tone. It could have some shimmer to it, but color-wise I wouldn''t contrast much.
