Well, the changes have been made and here is a wax proof of the newer version. It''s hard to tell from the wax, but it looks as if the pear sides will be angled slightly more and that the baskets have been lowered. What do you all think?

i''m putting them together here for comparison...

I think the wax looks good. The stones are not going to be set up nearly as high, and it looks like the pears are going to taper down from the center stone nicely. I think you are going to be pleased.

the most important thing is that you are satisfied with the outcome of the wax/ring..i think this new setting will give u the desired effect of the not so high prongs and slanted angles for the pears!

good luck and hopefully this will satisfy you a 100% =)

I like the lower setting much better. But then I dont tend to like things set up high. Just is not my taste. And while I do think the new wax is prettier will you still be able to have a wedding band sit flush with the new setting? Just a thought.

Just my 2 cents... I''m really glad you''re getting it redone. The ring is really pretty, except the stones were so high - look at the space between the bottom of the center stone and the bar in the ''basket''!!! I''m sure you''ll like the newer ring much better - enjoy!

I think the new wax looks great. I too like the basket area lower and it looks like the pears will angle down the way you want them.

Looks great!

It''s hard to tell from the wax exactly how much more they have angled the pears but I''m going to cross my fingers and have them run with it.

I''ll post the finished pics when ready.

Can''t wait for the finished ring pics!!

I was gone while all of this was unfolding but am glad to see the ring is being redone if you''re not satisfied with it. I thought the original looked beautiful (with the exception of the vtips on the pears) but can see that the smaller baskets and slightly increased angles on the pears will look gorgeous! It is a very subtle increase on the angle in the pears, it took me some time to see it. Looks like it''s going to be wonderful...

It looks PERFECT now!! Hooray!

I think the proportions of the new wax are much, much better. I feel like baskets should be set lower. It just looks better. I didn''t see anything wrong with the prongs (actually I thought they looked great), but I agree that the basket was too high and the pears not angled down enough. If you are paying for a custom setting you should be able to get it to your specifications -- isn''t that the point of a custom setting? I''m glad you are getting it redone and think you will like it.

I''m not sure if you''ve approved anything yet or not, but I have one quick comment... which I may not be helpful.

In the old ring.. and in the new wax.. the gap between the sidestones and the center stone bother me a little.. It''s just that the stones seem like they are all on the same plane. The tiffany setting has a definate "arc" to it.. but even your new wax -- although shorter.. still needs a little arc or something to it.

Here''s something that I will suggest - probably too late for you but..

I would set the pears a little lower VERTICALLY - so that the center stone is more prominent. I would even go so far to say, raise the center stone a touch, and bring the pears a little underneath it.. like a millimeter of the top of the pear stone that would go under the center. Maybe not that close.. but I think you understand what I''m trying to get at.

If they don''t want to do the "arc" like the tiffany - maybe a small tiny change in the vertical height of the pears may help give that look - without copywright issues (if there are any)

Even w/o any changes it''s going to be a beautiful stone!
