Hi all, not sure if this has been done before, but since I'm (fairly) new here I thought that a fun way to get to know everyone a little better would be to discuss what we all do for a living. I don't mind starting...

Okay.. so I graduated school in February, and the last year I WAS working as the senior graphic artist at a large digital media company in Texas. I was able to work with some big names such as Dell, Walgreens, and Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston (tooting my own horn a little by name-dropping.. but hey, a girl can be proud of accomplishments after working EXTREMELY hard to achieve them, right?

). However, some things happened after the deal with Dell that made me feel like I was being taken advantage of. I quit and two weeks later I started a new job on Halloween, doing graphic design for a very well-known and respected photojournalist back in Louisiana closer to family and wedding location. I work primarily with brides, which really gives me some interesting ideas about cool things I can do for my wedding. Paycheck took a hit, but I think it's a fair trade because I absolutely LOVE it. It is by far the best job I have ever had. I have found that I prefer working one-on-one with clients and individuals, as opposed to working with huge suits and corporations.

In my free time I do freelance graphic design and art. I have also just purchased a nice Canon digital SLR so that I can revisit my love of photography as a hobby.

That might be more than you guys wanted to know!

wedding planner in NYC

After 8 years, I still love going to work every day. Although, the "occupational hazards" of the job are surfacing now that it has come time to plan my own wedding. In my line of work, I get to see first hand why the wedding industry is a multi-BILLION dollar industry. Unfortunately, I know whats out there and I know what can be done...and I want it ALL.
