Home repairs and major appliances--Not fun expenditures and I can''t wear them!
I hear you .... We have contractors working on the outside of our house right now. We''ll be out $4K and no one (other than us) will really notice that anything has been done. (Replacing rotten wood, gutters, etc...)

I hate writing that check, but I know it has to be done. We had rain leak into our house during a bad storm due to the rotton wood.

Thritto on the bad food!! As I get more and more competent in the kitchen, this bugs me to no end. I can''t stand paying for food that I could have cooked (better!) at home. Now, if it''s something that I can''t re-create at home (or that I''ve tried to - failed Chili''s enchilada soup comes to mind), I don''t mind paying for it at all. DH and I paid $75 for dinner out a couple months ago and I recreated the whole thing at home a few weeks later for less than $10. RIDICULOUS.

OH - and I was surprised by how much you can re-create at home!! My MIL introduced me to copycat recipes http://copycat.cdkitchen.com/newrecipes.html and I''m hooked. We chow down on "Olive Garden Salad" all the time :)

Oh Boy, thank you for this website!!!!

paying a cover charge at bars!!!!

I won''t colour my hair because I think its a waste of money (...until I get greys - then I''ll fork it over)

I hate when restaurants try to ''sell'' you bottled water. Tap water is good enough for me ;)

I don''t buy my lunch at work. I brownbag it.

Parking.

Renewal fees for ID. Everyone needs ID, so I think the renewals are a total cash grab.

Thats all for now

I hate paying to get into a nice bar or lounge. Unless there is going to be entertainment I don''t see why I should have to pay to pay to drink and eat in their establishment.
Lame.

clothes

I''m a horrible shopper. It takes me hours to get around to even spending £10 on a t-shirt. I will do it if pushed and I find the perfect thing. I can talk myself out of buying almost any item of clothing.

I also don''t like paying for movies or other sources of very temporary entertainment.
I do the SAME thing Addy! I''ll shop for hours and talk myself out of buying anything. Then, I ask myself, "why the hell am I shopping if i''m not going to BUY anything". Then, nothing is worth buying. I hate shopping.

I don''t like spending money on shoes! Cute and comfortable ladies shoes are so expensive.

Just kidding, I love buying gifts and whatnot for other people.

Hmm, let''s see. ALL OF THIS WEDDING STUFF!

It''s so expensive for one day, crazy! Oh and they know they''ve got you. Tack bride, bridal, wedding, ceremony, reception, bridesmaid, groomsmen, etc., onto something and it''s like 50%+ mark-up! Other than that...I hate how much the designer goods I

I hate buying gym clothes-no idea why, I just hate spending the money on it.
I am the same way! I flat refuse to buy them, though, because I usually work our at home.
I also hate spending money on gym clothes, it bugs the crap out of me. But then for some reason I''d feel weird wearing the same darn thing to the gym everytime too. Bleh.

I love food but I HATE spending money on eating out. I''m not a big drinker during dinner but many friends are so when the bill comes, ouch.

I also hate spending money on lingerie. I buy nice/decent stuff but nothing va va voom anymore, I don''t know why I just can''t bring myself to spend a lot of money on specialty items. I figure it''s not the item my FI''s interested in ultimately anwyays, hehe... not that he wouldn''t appreciate it I''m sure.

Absolutely. $450 a month renting a Manhattan parking space is ridiculous, being that my car only costs $300 a month to lease.

And tampons should be government-subsidised.

Me too, unless it is a special event.

I love food, but I hate to spend money on fast food. I feel like it''s a complete waste.

Toll after tolls in Sydney- what the mister calls the North Shore tax.

Parking fees in Bondi Junction Westfield (2 hour free parking but it takes near an hour to find a parking spot and another half hour to get out during peak shopping hours).

$5.50 average for an average hotel coffee.

Lastly, I can't justify $120 haircuts. Just can't. I like my $22 haircuts, I'll save my $$ for a fantastic jewel. :D

PS: Pennquaker, I want to be on the mothership!!

ATM fees. My hubby always uses machines that cost money (he is drawn to them like a beacon) and I always complain to him about these fees. It is a small amount, but it drives me crazy!!!!

Car repairs. Someone vandalized my SUV''s mirror, and I had to get the whole thing replaced - $350!!!

I normally have no problem spending $$ on food but the price of PIZZA in the SF Bay Area is just ludicrous. So we almost never have pizza unless it's from Trader Joes.

Hardcover books. I'll spend the $$ on paperbacks but recently so many of the authors I like are going to hardcover and the hardcovers have been underwelming that unless I can get it at costco and I KNOW its a good one, no way.

Shoes for work. I kill them so unless they are on sale and significantly reduced I'm not likely to spend $$ on them. I like nice quality, but DSW's clearance is my favorite place.

Shipping. I will frequently not shop online unless its a place that has free shipping. Especially if its something I might have to return and I can't do an instore or free shipping return.

I ditto everyone on the bras. And they wear out so fast and the underwires get issues if you don't spend the money on them.

Gas. Increasing cost of gas. Bridge Tolls. Commuting costs period since there is no public transpo to my work. Not an extra though. But I'm much less likely to go anywhere right now unless it is to work and back or really CLOSE.

But my biggest pet peeve? Although arguably not an extra... "Pre-exisiting conditions" crap on medical insurance. It is just criminal what they get away with qualifiying as a pre-existing condition so they can avoid paying. Huge pet peeve.

Food. (good and bad) I don`t know, I see it as you eat it, and it''s gone. And in my case, might have picked up some weight with it. I prefer to cook my own food. But I also know there is something to be said about eating out, and being able to spend time with friends and my fiancé.
