What do you think of this diamond?

Cut looks good. Idealscope looks good too. Biggest question will be is this diamond eye clean and crisp?

I haven't seen many SI1 stones of this size so csnt speak to whether its eye clean or not, but I think it would be eye clean enough for me. That doesnt mean you'll feel the same.

This is an out of the box find for me. I had primarily been looking at a 3.5 to 3.8 carat diamond size with VS1 / VS2 clarity. I had been keeping my eye on a couple of those and they were close to $60k. And then I found this. So it’s added an interesting twist in my search.

This stone was graded in Feb. 2015. I would ask for an updated AGS report.

Thank you. I noticed that too and was planning to. But before I do that, I wanted to get some opinion from people here. Ultimately I would have Yekutiel inspect it for me and I would view it with him. But before I trouble him with that, I wanted to make sure I have done enough due diligence on this forum.

Given that it is a AGS 000, I would be willing to look at it. And since it's through Yekutiel, that gives me a little more comfort. But even if it looked eye clean to me at first glance, knowing myself, if I were to buy it, I would keep looking for the inclusions with my naked eye until I could see them, even if it had to be from the side. And once I know I can see it with my naked eye, it would bug me. So my thoughts going into the viewing are I wouldn't expect to buy it unless it is off the charts, and I have a return period, which gives the OCD time to sink in and ruin it for me. And then I would return it. I hope you're not like me.

That ☝️ . That’s exactly how I am feeling right now. I will probably be taking images with my macros lens of every inclusion. I feel like seeing it probably makes sense. Either I see it and I see inclusions right away and the agony ends there. Or I don’t, and a long process of debate & contemplation will start. I have a habit of making every decision super painful and complicated.

BTW just because something is rare doesn’t mean it is a good fit for me but I searched for 4.5 to 5 carat diamonds, color G to I, clarity VVS2 to SI1, table 54-58 and depth 60-62.5 and there were a total of 4 diamonds, including this one.

I think this would be eyeclean for me as well. I am also however not the kind of person who nitpicks to try and find each and every inclusion though. As long as I can’t see glaring inclusions with a quick lookie-loo it works for me. Basically I like to glance at a stone up close from all angles and make up my mind. I haven’t seen many 4.5+ ct SI stones either, but my jeweler does let me play through his inventory whenever I go in, and I have seen some big SI stones and been unable to find the inclusion(s) even while staring.

I think its allready been covered pretty well, looked at by someone skilled and trustworthy and a new report.

@Karl_K just wanted to clarify that as of right now it is not being looked at in person by anyone. Of course that would be part of the process. But before moving to that stage of the process I wanted to build some additional conviction by getting some feedback.

I wouldn't personally consider it. The clarity would bother me. It has more inclusions not shown on the plot. I also don't particularly like the cut. You can get a gorgeous diamond for $72k.

Yes. SI1 with twinning wisps and clouds as the grade setters with additional twinning wisps and graining; all of which can scatter light (milky appearance under strong light). I do see some of these in the video. That combined with the report from 2015.
Proceed with caution.

I don’t find it particularly too attractive.

I feel the same...but again personal preference and no right or wrong. I am a stickler about clarity though so I wouldn't personally want an SI stone for my ER. I also don't love the cut. You have a great budget and can find a gorgeous diamond.
