I''m happy for you. I think that black is the better choice too. Nice contrast. Isn''t it fun getting stuff done? I wish that I could get something done ha ha!
LOL Tybee, baby steps, baby steps

why are strapless dresses considered so bad? i was told i should wear one to prom because they look nicer than strapped

That dress is soooo pretty!! I would go for the black shawls and the girls can probably use them again! Good luck!!

Strapless isn''t bad...just hard to keep up. They seem to slide down, which makes dancing hard

are they really better looking than strapped? should i wear strapless to my prom?

mechminx- strapless dresses can be very universally flattering, as long as they are well fitted. Also, if they are fitted properly, they really won''t fall down. I have several strapless dresses and never get the feeling that they are going to fall down..

However, I don''t think there is a big difference between the look of a dress like Rascal chose with thin spaghetti straps added on to a dress that could basically be a strapless dress and a strapless, so in that respect, the straps will just make it a little easier for the girls to keep their dresses up.

Hi Mechminx, I think for someone to say the strapless looks better then strapped is just a matter of opinion. I think both types of dresses are beautiful, and one is not better then the other. You should wear what ever dress you love to the prom!! Try not to let others opinions get in the way...unless it''s your mom''s, then you should consider it

Hey thanks Marvel, I did end up ordering the black shawls, so we shall see!

Regarding strapless dresses, MS is right, if it is fitted properly, the dress should be very comfortable without any problems with it falling down. The key is "properly fitted."

And regarding how they look, strapless versus dresses with straps are completely different looks, so try both on.
