What do you think of this pendant for my collection of pears

So many of you know, I now have a "collection" of pears. All pears I purchased to try in my WF ring but for various reasons they didn't work out. But I still like them and have been wondering about using them. I had been thinking rings but then I came across this pendant and thought hmmmmmm :Up_to_something:
The pears are:

1.8ct aquamarine 11.05 x 6.7 x 4.57
2.35 chrysoberyl 10.5 x 7 x 4.5
2.98 white spinel 11.3 x 7.9 x 5.3

I think I'd do the pendant in rose gold. And I'm thinking I'd put the spinel at the top and the chryso and aqua at the bottom.

So please, tell me what do you think? Like? Don't like? Changes or suggestions? Thanks all!! :wavey:

Initially, I was concerned about the saturation and tone difference but after seeing your pics, I think it is going to be great. I prefer the layout combo of 893 the best. It looks as though the colours just shift from one to the next, flowing well. In the other two, the stronger coloured chrysoberyl just sticks out like a sore thumb.

Love love love the design and I'm a commited pear fan also! I hadn't realised until one day I looked at my collection and it struck me how many I had! :D

A couple of things struck me that if I were going to do this, I would think about:-

1. The pears are all light in colour and (I hope you don't mind me saying) but need a bit of help in the bowtie department. So if I were setting these into a pendant I would have them in enclosed baskets from behind to maximise the colour. Looking at the design it would be easy to do

2. Rose gold is a matter of choice but I'm not sure I would put it with the chryso - although it would suit the other two. Could you use either white gold or yellow gold instead or even a mixture of the two? You could always have the pendant in one metal and the baskets, V prongs, in another.

Do you have somebody to make this for you? I suspect it won't be cheap because of the number of diamonds, work involved and potentially the gold weight also. Interested to know if you have somebody in mind to make it.

Anyway, I can't wait to see this. A very exciting project!

HeHeHe - you know I didn't even realize I had taken the pictures with different color combos - I wasn't even trying to do that
But that said - are you saying put the chryso at the top? Thanks Chrono!

Thanks LD! Nope - don't mind you saying anything! I'm happy to know I will get honest opinions!
I hadn't even thought of using different metal OR enclosing the baskets. I have a nickel allergy so I think I'd prefer doing the pendant in rose but doing the baskets in a different color would be just fine.

Actually - its a Lanb0 setting  I don't think I'm ready to take on a custom project yet.......

You can't wear white gold? And I presume you don't want to use yellow gold, correct? That's a tough choice because I don't think rose gold is going to go well with the chrysoberyl but might be doable with the aqua and spinel. If Lanbo can customize a yellow gold basket for the chryso as LD suggested, that would be great. I think having the chryso way at the top, lets the other two at the bottom stand out on their own.

I suspect that for a pendant I'd be OK with anything. Earrings or a "wear all the time" ring I definitely need platinum or rose gold. But since I have the choice here I'd probably go with rose gold for the pendant itself. Were I to come across a preloved pendant that I loved I'd make the sacrifice  I just don't keep a necklace on for long enough (yet) to see a reaction ....
So chryso at the top with a yellow basket and keep rose for everything else?
I wish I could play with the combos myself. Does anyone know how Jeweljunke does that to try different stones in a picture? Or what she uses to do it?

I am useless with any picture manipulation software other than cropping and resizing using Photoshop. Sorry to be of no assistance.

Have you tried palladium white gold? There is no nickel in the alloy so you should be fine.

Re: What do you think of this pendant for my collection of p

Neat pendant!! I like that!

I would put the chryso at the top as well - it is a stand out colour, in comparison to the softer other two stones, and doesn't seem to harmonize as well with one of the others, compared to how the aqua/spinel pair together.

I like the YG as is because it seems to take a back seat with the white diamond melee, yet would really punch up the CS's and could intensify your spinel. I do agree with the enclosed backing idea, if possible.
