What does your everyday necklace look like?

Re: What does your everyday necklace look like?

Thank you so much, Jambalaya and Missy! This is a great thread! Everybody's necklaces are beautiful! :D

Re: What does your everyday necklace look like?

I've been planning this pendant for a long time and it's finally complete! There's a lot of sentiment behind this piece, and I do plan on wearing it everyday.

RissaLou, gorgeous necklace and what a presence! :appl:

Greg, just beautiful. That FCD looks amazing on you.

Leelasingh, so delicate and perfect for everyday wear. And what a special meaning it holds for you. :appl:

I switch between a golden South Sea pearl pendant on a yellow gold chain and a Tahitian pearl pendant on a white gold chain. My Mikimoto strand wins on dressier days. All my other necklaces languish in the jewelry box; I should try harder.

I haven't taken any proper pics of mine - but here are a couple of phone snaps I just took. I should make an effort and do it properly because the faceting on this stone is so symmetric and beautiful!

This is an L/VS1 (as I was told by Brian Gavin - it's uncerted), late OEC, 1.14ct in an 18ct WG fixed bezel made by BGD. I already had the stone, but had the pendant made to commemorate the birth of my daughter in February :)

@pancake, your necklace is so lovely! Unfortunately I believe a jeweler has stolen your photos and is using them to sell another necklace. I saw it on Pinterest and followed the link. Sorry to tell you but thought you had the right to know! https://harrychadent.com/collection...lR1o3SVZoT1NVb21oSGpBJm09MyZ0PUFBQUFBRnowaU04

When my big floof dog passed away, I had this made and it’s been my everyday necklace ever since. My former everyday necklace is now part of my everyday bracelet stack lol.

Resurrecting this very old thread I have been working through it for ideas for a possible reset! I have a 0.8ct RB that I am thinking of resetting, and my mother has just suggested I could have an old necklace that has about 18 5-10 pointers on it to use.

Thanks for resurrecting this thread
i love discovering these older threads

Good luck with your necklase

For the first time in years my neck is bare
i wore mum's pearls (that barfly need restrung) for a few afternoons just around the house to get used to the length and to learn to master the clasp - so i took my silver chain and my cat pendant on a leather thong off so they wouldn't beat up on the pearls

Lovely! I wear a Trinity as a wedding ring.

I used to wear it as wedding till ——er weight gain and I think knuckle issue (the latter I am ignoring for now!!!)

So a dear friend of mine showed me a new Cartier line that has trinity in a corded necklace... so I had some spare leather around and now I have a new necklace!!!

Woohoo!

Re: What does your everyday necklace look like?

Mine is a very simple white and rose gold Fabrege egg with a diamond bail and a small .40 sapphire at the base of the egg.

Always wanted a faberge egg! Beautiful!

Well, anyone who saw my '5 Favorite Pieces' post isn't going to be too surprised that my necklaces aren't too vavavoom, but, rather are fairly low key and casual.

Firstly - my silver heart on a 30" sterling silver box chain. The heart was a birthday gift, and the baseball was part of the first ever Christmas gift my now-husband gave me. He was 19 years old at the time, and the baseball was his from when he played state-league under 21's baseball. Love that man! (...and each of these pendants have something to do with love!)

The next is a 14kt solid gold and enamel cupcake charm, on a 14kt yellow gold chain, along with an opal and garnet flower, also set it 14kt. It's 'love' connection is - hallo! - CAKE!...and flowers, both of which I love. ::) The combo is so smiley and happy!

Next up is my Australia pendant in rose gold. I big-puffy-heart love Australia - the land of my birth - so putting the...big puffy heart...next to Australia's national emblem, made in gold, was a no brainer. I LOVE this necklace and wear it often - tho most often when I'm feeling home sick.

20200220_141433.jpg

Next up is my diamond cluster necklace. The center is a 1.11ct Good Old Gold signature cut (called Ascendancy, I think?) surrounded by 8 x 20pt stones (approx) - 2.75 ctw. Both the setting for the cluster, and also the chain, are in platinum. It has a lovely weight to it, and matches my cluster earrings, both of which reflect my love of jewelry and diamonds. <3 Despite having a lot of ctw in it, the setting for this necklace is smooth, sturdy and non-fuss, so it gets worn a lot, even with very casual outfits.

20200220_141528.jpg

And lastly - my wedding pendant, made from the gold from my wedding ring, my husband's wedding ring, and my engagement ring. The melee is from my wedding ring, and the larger diamond was a Valentine's day gift from my husband. This necklace has 'save in case of fire' status! And it should be pretty obvious what love this represents. ::)

I have 2 necklaces that I would consider only special occasion pieces, but the ones above are rotated regularly as my casual, daily necklaces.

All so beautiful and meaningful, love all the charms :kiss2:

The two pieces I reach for the most are my fixed diamond solitaire, and my Marla Aaron lock/chain.

1) Diamond solitaire: a family friend counseled me against this buy ("too boring and basic"), but it ended up being an absolute favourite. Is it basic? YES, but that's what I love about it. The diamond is Birks 0.25 ct (not sure about the stats beyond that), and it glows in most viewing conditions.

2) Marla Aaron lock/chain: I struggled to justify Marla's massive markups, but appreciate her iconic design aesthetic. I love wearing mixed metals, and find that this piece really ties things together. It's a great foundational piece for a #neckmess, and I hope to add another lock sometime soon!
