With this year about to end, what events had the greatest impact personally upon you this past year. Please no politics.

My wedding.

My (as well as my husband''s) decision that I should go onto the pancreas transplant waiting list, to start proceedings to adopt a baby...and my e-ring upgrade

I am sure the first two will have significant consequences in 2006 as well.

Maya

I wish you luck with both!

I would have to say the birth of my daughter.

By the way, good luck Maya!

Oh Nan, I know how sad this time of year is for you. Your mom and Felicia passing so close together. You know they are with you. Wayne and Felicia brought us together so we can thank them for that. Right??

Purchasing a new home was the biggest event this past year. We had bought another house, lived there for seven months and then bought the house we''re in now and we plan to stay here. . .so finally I can unpack!

One big event we just had was Ashley being accepted to Penn. The other was when Angello was operated on. I got to visit Nan and Angello numerous times. I am thrilled that he is happy and healthy as he should be. He is my cutie pie.

Hurricane Katrina by far. That event uprooted my whole life, geography wise and life choices. Funny how you can plan so much and something like this happen. I''m just really thankful there was a silver lining and everyone I knew was safe!

That and getting engaged of course!

sorry I ment to get back sooner and post my answers but got delayed.

Wifey2b''s illness
finding out tiger''s (my dog) kidneys were failing.
destroying my elbow at work in feb.

This was actually a very uneventful year for us...after the last few years and all these large life events happening...it was nice and fairly relaxing this year. I would say the largest ''event'' was celebrating our first year anniversary.

Wow...there''s been a lot of life-altering changes here...we''ve had some ourselves...

The loss of my DH''s grandmother...
My boss suddenly cutting my hours by 75% without warning, which forced me into focusing (and building) my own business, which is still struggling, but slowly getting off the ground, but has caused us to have a very tough financial year...
As silly as it sounds, the death of my cat...
My father being diagnosed with cancer and a hernia...both of which have been successfully operated on...

Here''s to wishing to all of us a happy, and healthy New Year and to our loved ones!!!

Worldwide? The tsunami in Asia really affected me - the whole thing was horrific.
Personally? My wedding day - 1st November.

Our first anniversary and deciding we wanted to start a family - Aug. 15
Finding out we were going to be parents - Sept. 8
Losing Bailey, our beloved 10-year-old Akita -- God do we miss our pal
7.gif
- Oct. 6
Finding out that our baby-to-be is a little girl! - Dec. 19

I'm so sorry for your losses sevens one, thank goodness for your amazing support network in times like these...and good luck with everything Maya!

HAPPY 2006 to everyone!

My sympathy to those who have lost someone (animals included).

Biggest event have been my three year anniversary, Hurricane Wilma did over $40,000.00 dollars worth of damage to our house, being diagnosed with the first stages of diabetes, and my son turning 2!

Hey what doesn''t kill us make us stronger.

The good:

1. Watching my children blossom and grow
2. Getting our new dog Corky, a little 3 legged mutt we adopted from a rescue group. He is the happiest free spirit that ever lived, and has brought a lot of joy into our home.
3. Getting my diamond earrings!

The bad:

1. Losing my mother
2. Losing a friend due to a real estate deal. It was a great deal for my friend, I got her top dollar for her home sale and negotiated fiercely for a great price on the new home, but words were said when she was stressed and the sale closed late, that can''t be taken back and will take a long time to heal, if ever.
3. Having to go with my husband to the vet to euthanize his beloved greyhound, who was in incredible pain with cancer, throwing up blood daily and too weak and depressed to stand up. I never liked the dog myself, and I''m relieved she''s no longer in our home, but it did break my heart to see her suffering and my husband''s grief.

Unfortunately, my father passing away in the spring. We were thisclose and I''m still sometimes feeling totally lost without him to talk to. (and watch football with)

Reconnecting with long lost relatives;
The impending death of my best friend.

My family had a very healthy and happy year. I am sorry for all of those that have lost loved ones (human and fur) and are facing new health challanges.

Buying a house
Marrying my best friend
Getting our fur-baby puppy!

I''m also sorry for all the people here who have lost someone (human or animal) or have had to deal with health complications, I hope 2006 brings much happiness and good fortune!
