LOL!!! My dirty mind is getting the best of me here so I''ll be careful about what I say

With 3 kids time alone together is few and far between, but, when we are we always go to the beach. Ahhhhh, it''s so relaxing when you aren''t worried about your children drowning! We often go out to eat or cook something at home that we wouldn''t ordinarily cook. We love to cook so to us having time in the kitchen together without kid interuptions is sweet heaven. We go shopping quite often, too. DH likes to shop for clothes for me...Not so much for himself. We go to plays when we get the chance, too. Well, I guess that''s not something he likes to do. He just tolerates it because I love it so much.

around the house FI and i like to....

- take turns picking out movies to watch

- read aloud to each other (we had like $160 to borders after christmas, so we''ve been busy with this!)

- cook

- play nerdy board games

- pick something we are both interested in and look it up together online

- watch marathons of tv shows on dvd
Mimzy, what kind of ''nerdy board games''??? I want some nerdy board games too!

ah sorry i didn''t see this earlier!

oh geez...FI went through a period where he was obsessed with them; the favorites have been 1960, graverobbers, ticket to ride, settlers of cataan(?), mystery at the abby (MY favorite), bohnanza, dracula and arkham horror. they are all pretty intense......and intensely geeky

We like to ride sportbikes. We either take a nice road and try to find some twisties or we''ll go to the track every once in a while.

Wow! I''ve never even heard of these board games! But I''ll definitely look them up.

This is so sad and cannot believe I''m saying this, but lately we''ve been playing Wii. He tried to help me grade my chemistry papers, but he didn''t know what he was doing. Biology majors have no business messing with chemistry.

Two words: ROCK BAND!!!!!! Seriously. I despise video games of all kinds but this is *so* fun & we can play with each other or with friends. I can sing or play guitar or drum ... and he mostly plays guitar. We have our own band & tour & earn fake new outfits! AND BLING!!! Okay, so the virtual bling collection is *limited* ... it does add a little something to my shopping experience. HA!!

Before we discovered the ROCK BAND ... (and, you know, during breaks)

* watching cooking shows on TV
* making new meals together
* long, winding drives -- exploring new towns
* movies (sometimes)
* farmer''s markets
* flea markets
* concerts (ha -- the concerts are a trade off FOR the flea markets!)
* playing with/cuddling with pets
* board games (sometimes) -- Trivial Pursuit/Scrabble/Monopoly
* TV Show DVD sets -- we watched ALIAS & THE OFFICE all the way through together

Last weekend we went Snow Tubing for the first time around here. And a couple of V-day''s ago we went Snowmobiling ...
Love hearing other people''s ideas!

Have a baby - then you will be praying for 10 minutes in the tub alone and it will be pure bliss!!!
I work with kids and I hear the same comment from their mothers

HA! I was going to say this too!!! If you are that bored after 18 months, have kids..the excitement NEVER ends!

but in all seriousness, things we liked to do before and after kids include...

Waterskiing
Boating
Roadtrips
Wine tasting
Dining out (we try a new restaurant in the city once a month)
movies
going on walks
going to the gym
going to the dogpark
driving to the coast
listening to live music
driving around looking at people''s yards/porches for cool ideas for our house
comedy club

I ski with my dad & brother, but am going to get DH up there one of these days.

We play rockband on playstation 3. He''s guitar and I''m drums - it is SO FUN!!!
