Palladium is quite expensive and many jewelry makers avoid it for that reason. On the other hand, nickel tends to yellow a bit over time, plus there is that allergy factor. I see more and more palladium white gold offered here in Europe and yes, I do have a ring or two made with it. Most decent European jewelry makers turn up their nose at nickel alloyed white gold and some would never consider using it. It is pretty common in Japan and somewhat in Europe too. There are more and more US dealers carrying the nickel-free alloy (after all -- nickel allergies do impact a substantial amount of the population).
