I work in electonics.
The solder we use is usually lead and tin when flux can be used.

For applications that can not tolerate flux (like soldering down integrated circuits we use eutitic solders which are gold and germainium or gold and tin (I think) - these melt at VERY high temps

What metals are in the solders that are used with:

14K white gold
14K yellow gold
18K white gold
18K yellow gold
0.950 Platinum

Thanks very much.
Great links.

Sounds like the new platinum solders can oxidize.
