Wait a minute - this is SO unfair. I don''t have a ring OR a puppy.
What would happen if I told BF he could choose which one to give me? Hmm...
I also have NO RING and NO PUPPY. I am definitely lying low on the ring stuff, but puppies I point out even if they have three legs, no tail, and bald patches. Love them all, want one so badly. I have allergies so it is SO HARD for me to find a dog that might work for me. If any of you have allergies and want to suggest some dogs that from your personal experience have worked for you, please let me know. I have researched everywhere on hypo-allergenic dogs and am not sure how "hypoallergenic" they are. It''s hard to tell when you play with a puppy for 15 minutes...
I definitely think BF should get me a puppy to tide me over!

Kittybean, good for you for researching and trying to find a breed that is compatible for your allergy needs. I have to say that my SIL and her family have a labradoodle, but he is a huge dog...well over 90 pounds, but none of them have had any allergic reactions, and he fits in well with their aging golden retriever and kitty.Date: 5/9/2008 3:13:33 PM

Could you deal with a dog who might be 5 lbs. of puppy but turn into 90 lbs of craziness if it meant that your allergies wouldn''t be bothered? You have to consider size also.

KittyBean: I work in a kennel and sell puppies. There are MORE 20 differant breeds or so that do NOT shed. ANY of them would be fine if you are allergic to dogs. Ill give a list off the top of my head. The ones within the quote marks are all within 6-25lbs. "Shih Tzu, Lhasa Apso, Poodle, Maltese, Bichon, Cairn Terrier (ToToThe wizard of OZ dog), West Highland Terrier, Scottie Terrier, Yorkshire Terrier, Silkie Terrier, Fox terrier, Schnauzer, Mini Schnauzer, Snoodle (mini Schnauzer and Mini Poodle mix), Havanese (maltese, Bichon mix), Yorkie Poo (Yorkie and Poodle mix), ShihTzu Poo (Shih Tzu and Poodle mix)", Soft Coated Wheaton Terrier (aprox 35-40lbs). If you want a bigger Non shedding dog you got the Old English Sheep Dog, A Goldendoodle or a Labradoodle (either a Golden Retreiver or Labradore Retriever mixed with a Standard Poodle) They go between 55-70lbs but make sure its a 3rd generation or higher. Example: a 1st generation Doodle puppy would mean that one parent would be either the Lab or Golden (whichever breed you go with) and the other parent would be a Standard Poodle. This does NOT GUARENTEE non shedding cuz the pup is 50/50. But the more they are bred the less they shed. Once you hit your 3rd generation and above its usually a Goldendoodle bred with a Goldendoodle or a Labradoodle with a labradoodle, THATS WHEN it knocks out the shedding. Ok, that should be enough for you for the moment lol. Like I said, NONE of these shed and are fine for allergies. So go find a few that you like the look of, and then go sit with each one for a bit and se which fits your personalaty. They are ALL great!Date: 5/9/2008 3:13:33 PM

Hm, based on the thread title I was having non-kosher thoughts. Congrats on the puppies!
