There are so many good quotes. Can you choose just one and which one would it be?

I just asked my DH his favorite quote from a movie and it's from Cool Hand Luke.

"What we've got here is a failure to communicate"

I have a number of favorite movie quotes.

You can't handle the truth.

Go
ahead, make my day.

Frankly my dear I don't give a damn.

As god is my witness, I'll never be hungry again.

Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore.

There's no place like home.

Here's looking at you, kid.

Carpe Diem.

Elementary my dear Watson.

I'll be back.

I'm gonna make him an offer he can't refuse.

You've got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well do ya punk?

Haha ok one ,last one from Annie Hall. (One of) My favorite movie(s) of all time.

La-dee-da-la-dee-da.

Sorry, I couldn't even follow my own rule for the thread. I just love movies and there are so many amazing quotes. Can you choose just one and which one is your favorite?

"Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn." from my favourite film of all time, which is Gone With The Wind.

I saw it on a big screen some years ago, and it was breathtaking, and deserved all the accolades it received.

DK :))

I agree. It is a classic and despite the current controversy I feel it is a masterpiece. I read the book first when I was a little girl and I remember I devoured it in less than 2 days. It really held my attention and I couldn't put it down. It has been a long time since I saw the movie or read the book and I think it is time again to do both.

"No one is perfect!", the last line in Some Like It Hot.

I love films too, and can think of many lines that I like.

DK :))

I am guessing we have 3.5h to spare while being stuck at home at the moment!

Sammi: "I thought you weren't religious, Rady?"

Rady: "Spirituality is not religion. Religion divides people, belief in something unites them."

(Flight of the Phoenix - although the internet remembers it differently to me!)

One of my favourites! =)2

Speaking of chocolate I just ordered 8 more bars. This quarantine is killing me softly with chocolate. But oh it’s a delicious way to go. :)

Pretty much anything from “Top Gun” it’s my favourite movie ever. :cool2: Whole list of them here.

"Son, your ego is writing cheque’s your body can’t cash..."

"I feel the need...the need for speed!”

Haha. Ok I have to watch Top Gun again. I don’t remember the quote. It’s been a long time and I only saw it once. Definitely time to rewatch. Thanks for the recommendation.

“Of all the gin joints, in all the towns, in all the world, she walks into mine…”

So many good ones from Casablanca. So many good ones already mentioned from other films.

“Why didn’t I concur??!”

lol from “catch me if you can”

great movie

"So I got that going for me, which is nice." - Caddyshack

"I'm your huckleberry..." - Tombstone

Amen, chocolate is my downfall, I just came back from the store to get some, lol

"I'm having an old friend for dinner" - Silence of the Lambs

"I love the smell of napalm in the morning" - Apocalypse Now

"Leave the gun. Take the cannoli." - The Godfather

"I'll have what she's having" - When Harry Met Sally

'You're gonna need a bigger boat." - Jaws

It's my favorite quote as well!

I agree with everything you've said. Gone with the Wind is my favorite book and I just watched the film again a few weeks ago on Netflix.

From "Airplane!"

Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit smoking, drinking, amphetamines, sniffing glue...

HI:

"Laundry Day?" And most other lines from Terminator.

cheers--Sharon

"It's Showtime!" Beetlejuice, I've used it many times with my kids, husband, friends etc..

"Come back!" I use this every week. It's said very dramatically and OTT. From Rose in Titanic when she was trying to signal rescue boats.

I also quote Hedwig and the Angry Itch. So many quotes, so many uses. "Never put a bra in the dryer, it WARPS!" "It's a carwash!" "Trail of rainbow carnage."

"It's Showtime!" Beetlejuice, I've used it many times with my kids, husband, friends etc..

Very under-rated as a film IMHO.

To me, it is probably the best film for Tim Burton and Alec Baldwin, and perhaps Michael Keaton too.

Love it.

DD's favorite film, and it has sprung her Lydia Deetz phase.

Also: Who hasn't wanted to do the something similar? :lol-2:
