We had to complete this temperament/personality type questionaire at work today. I thought the results for my assistant and I were fascinating, considering that anyone that worked with us could guess which one of us had tested as what after reading the analysis.

http://keirsey.com

Apparently my type comprises only 2% of the population. I don''t know if that is a good thing or a bad thing.

I thought some of you might find it interesting for you and your S.O.

I was as Rational Fieldmarshal. I don''t know that I like the title, but it was definately me.

I did the mini, I have taken the Meyers Briggs before and studied this in grad school.

Then I was an ENFJ. Now I was an NF, I assume the middle two letters of the longer test. Some of them were too black and white for me as I often think in shades of gray, and I personally think I am full of contradictions. Nothing is that simple to me except trying to be a nice person and not hurt anyone if I can avoid it. Those tests are always interesting to me.

I''m a Rational. Fits me to a T! And, Rationals only comprise 7-10 % of the population. I would have thought more people were like me than unlike me, but I guess the world can only handle so many of us!!

Thanks, that was fun!

I have done these before :) they are kinda freaky as they are quite accurate

Myers-Brigg examinations are ones that no matter how many times you take the test you should always get the same answer.

My personality type: Idealists are relatively rare, making up no more than 15 to 20 percent of the population. But their ability to inspire people with their enthusiasm and their idealism has given them influence far beyond their numbers.

All Idealists (NFs) share the following core characteristics:

* Idealists pride themselves on being loving, kindhearted, and authentic.
* Idealists are enthusiastic, they trust their intuition, yearn for romance, seek their
true self, prize meaningful relationships, and dream of attaining wisdom.
* Idealists tend to be giving, trusting, spiritual, and they are focused on personal
journeys and human potentials.
* Idealists make intense mates, nurturing parents, and inspirational leaders.

From ones I have done before I am a Teacher Idealist (ENFJ)

This one breaks up your personality type by letters Myers Brigg

I did the mini, I''m an Idealist according to Kiersey:

# Idealists pride themselves on being loving, kindhearted, and authentic.
# Idealists are enthusiastic, they trust their intuition, yearn for romance, seek their
true self, prize meaningful relationships, and dream of attaining wisdom.
# Idealists tend to be giving, trusting, spiritual, and they are focused on personal
journeys and human potentials.
# Idealists make intense mates, nurturing parents, and inspirational leaders.

I took this in grad school several months ago and scored as an Idealist then, too. It seems pretty accurate to me. I like these tests, they''re so interesting. We all took them in grad school and then guessed what everyone else scored.

I agree diamondfan. There were a few questions that I just couldn''t answer at first and had to go back to several times to consider. I have always said I was a study in contrasts. I was finally able to make it through all the tough ones but one just kept haunting me and everyone I tried to get input on said I was both. But ultimately, I had to choose which one I knew that I had to rely on to get me through life and which answer reflected how others tho didn''t know too personally would likely view me. And in the end I still had an "X" and had to read two. Once we read those, it was a no-brainer which was I was. My assistant was ..."No way, you are definately THIS one". It was fun. I don''t know that I like the outcome much, but

Whoohoooo, I found another Rational. Yayaya somthingshiny!!

Now I just need to find the complementary mate in the complementary personality. I haven''t been successful there. Maybe because my profile states the following: "They are tireless in their devotion to their jobs and can easily block out other areas of life for the sake of their work."

I don''t want to be a Rational Fieldmarshal...no, no, no.....

Deelight and Haven, I am an ENFJ and an NF too!!! How funny. I took that test (the Meyers Briggs) in grad school over 15 years ago. I was getting my masters in psych but had gotten my undergrad degree in general studies/liberal studies and wanted to be a teacher!

I often think you have to answer the one you gravitate to at first glance. And some of them were not totally mutually exclusive, I could make a case for BOTH at different times. Like, sometimes I think I am a good conversationalist but I always think and strive to be a good listener. You CAN be both, just not at the same time!

According to Myers Brigg I''m an ENFP, Champion Idealist:

The Champion Idealists are abstract in thought and speech, cooperative in accomplishing their aims, and informative and expressive when relating with others. For Champions, nothing occurs which does not have some deep ethical significance, and this, coupled with their uncanny sense of the motivations of others, gives them a talent for seeing life as an exciting drama, pregnant with possibilities for both good and evil. This type is found in only about 3 percent of the general population, but they have great influence because of their extraordinary impact on others. Champions are inclined to go everywhere and look into everything that has to do with the advance of good and the retreat of evil in the world. They can''t bear to miss out on what is going on around them; they must experience, first hand, all the significant social events that affect our lives. And then they are eager to relate the stories they''ve uncovered, hoping to disclose the "truth" of people and issues, and to advocate causes. This strong drive to unveil current events can make them tireless in conversing with others, like fountains that bubble and splash, spilling over their own words to get it all out.

Champions consider intense emotional experiences as being vital to a full life, although they can never quite shake the feeling that a part of themselves is split off, uninvolved in the experience. Thus, while they strive for emotional congruency, they often see themselves in some danger of losing touch with their real feelings, which Champions possess in a wide range and variety. In the same vein, Champions strive toward a kind of spontaneous personal authenticity, and this intention always to "be themselves" is usually communicated nonverbally to others, who find it quite attractive. All too often, however, Champions fall short in their efforts to be authentic, and they tend to heap coals of fire on themselves, berating themselves for the slightest self-conscious role-playing.

VERY interesting, and definitely accurate, in my opinion. Thanks for the links!

I'm a Guardian.

Guardians pride themselves on being dependable, helpful, and hard-working.
Guardians make loyal mates, responsible parents, and stabilizing leaders.
Guardians tend to be dutiful, cautious, humble, and focused on credentials and traditions.
Guardians are concerned citizens who trust authority, join groups, seek security, prize gratitude, and dream of meting out justice.

Geez -- this (and the longer write up in the report) makes me sound borrrrrring! I swear, I'm a helluva lot o' fun!

I''m an Idealsit too

It says I am an Artisan (I don''t think that at all, weird); I don''t have the arts and crafts background for school either.

Artisans are proud of themselves in the degree they are graceful in action, respect themselves in the degree they are daring, and feel confident of themselves in the degree they are adaptable. This is the "Sensation Seeking Personality" -- trusting in spontaniety and hungering for impact on others. They are usually hedonic about the present, optimistic about the future, cynical about the past, and their preferred time and place is the here and now. Educationally they go for arts and crafts, avocationally for techniques, and vocationally for operations work. They tend to be permissive as parents, playmates as spouses, and play oriented as children. There are many Artisans to be found in many places where the action is, at least 35% and as many as 40% of the population.

I'm an idealist. Don't know what type. Interesting. Thanks for the test Miracles.

Me too! Haha.

I'm an Idealist.

I also feel I have contradictions and some of those questions were difficult to answer because I felt like both answers to some of the questions applied to me.

ETA: just took the other test and am a Healer INFP (reading now what that is).

With the questions some will both apply but you have to try and pick the one that is more right for you :)

There seems to be a lot of Idealists on this board *whoot* :)

Yeah, that''s what I did... I looked at the question and thought how I would react in a variety of environments, then answered what I tended to do most times.

Awww thanks!! I am no saint, that''s for sure, hehe.

Sera, I know, cuz definitely there were questions that I thought, well, in situation X I would do such and such but in situation Y I would do this other thing... the questions and options are purposefully fairly generic and vague, which funnily enough are exactly what I do not like to deal with in life generally! I like to have options and be able to deliberate, but I hate ambiguity too!

Well. Miss Lisa, let''s get into trouble together then! We live too close not to take advantage!!!

Yeah, exactly.

The contradicitons just produce this big ol'' circle of nuttiness... but it sure makes life interesting.

The Healer Idealist INFP:

abstract in thought and speech, cooperative in striving for their ends, and investigative and attentive in their interpersonal relations.

present a seemingly tranquil, and noticiably pleasant face to the world,

might seem reserved, and even shy, on the inside they are anything but reserved, having a capacity for caring not always found in other types. They care deeply-indeed, passionately-about a few special persons or a favorite cause, and their fervent aim is to bring peace and integrity to their loved ones and the world.

profound sense of idealism derived from a strong personal morality, and they conceive of the world as an ethical, honorable place.

their idealism as almost boundless and selfless, inspiring them to make extraordinary sacrifices for someone or something they believe in. The Healer is the Prince or Princess of fairytale, the King''s Champion or Defender of the Faith, like Sir Galahad or Joan of Arc. Healers are found in only 1 percent of the general population, although, at times, their idealism leaves them feeling even more isolated from the rest of humanity.

Healers seek unity in their lives, unity of body and mind, emotions and intellect,

Wishing to please their parents and siblings, but not knowing quite how to do it, they try to hide their differences, believing they are bad to be so fanciful... They wonder, some of them for the rest of their lives, whether they are OK. They are quite OK, just different from the rest of their family

Deeply committed to the positive and the good, yet taught to believe there is evil in them, Healers can come to develop a certain fascination with the problem of good and evil, sacred and profane.

Then, when Healers believe thay have yielded to an impure temptation, they may be given to acts of self-sacrifice in atonement. Others seldom detect this inner turmoil, however, for the struggle between good and evil is within the Healer, who does not feel compelled to make the issue public.

Ok, I just took both tests and I am a Protector Guardian ISFJ. I have taken the Myers-Briggs on countless occasions during undergrad and grad school b/c I was a psych major and I was always an INFP. I agree with what was said about the ISFJ, but it has made me take a step back and look at what may have changed with me. The I and the F are still the same and if I remember correctly, I was always toward the middle with the other two letters so I guess it is just how I prefer information and structure now. Hmmm...very interesting! Thanks for posting those links ladies! Oh, and with the Myers-Briggs results, how do they know the personality types for fictional characters?

Im a Guardian too....suprisingly I felt alot of the personality characteristics they listed fit me pretty well.

HI:

How''s the wedding planning coming along???

Well, it''s coming along. We finalized and received acceptance from all parties on the invite wording.

Moi gets top billing.

We have all agreed on the reception dinner venue, so that''s another one down.

I still don''t have my MOB dress, but that is probably because I am a darn Rational Field Marshall and just need to take time off to drive to L.A.

The MOH was hospitalized last week and we were worried about her health, but I just got an evite for Vegas, and she seemed back to her crazy self.

Thank you so much for asking!! You always make me smile Sharon. I''m very grateful for that.
