Hello all!

Last week, I made an appointment for my first dress fitting with a seamstress that is supposed to be really wonderful. The appointment isn''t until March, but the seamstress said that I need to bring my shoes and whatever lingerie I''ll be wearing. i''m wondering what you all would suggest to wear under my dress?

here''s the link my dress (just scroll down a bit because i had trouble posting it

The dress is made out of tulle and it is fairly form fitting. I''m going to modify the straps to resemble those in the bottom right vera wang runway dress. right now they are spaghetti. the dress is lined, but there''s no underlayers of tulle or fluffer. i''ve been working hard on in the gym to tone up and i still have a bit over five months to go, but i''m wondering if i should opt to wear some kind of spanx-slimming, supportive undergarments or something that looks a little less like an elastic girdle and a little more sexy. opinions

I think I am going to give the marry me spanx a try. I don''t plan on doing the pull the garter off my leg thing, so it won''t matter that I wear those.

What a timely post, since I''m actually scrambling to figure out my undergarments for my wedding in 9 days!!! I went along with all the expert advice here regarding the strapless bra from Victoria''s Secret and the chicken cutlet inserts to put in them and I''m happy with the results. My problem is the bottom half! Rather than go commando, I''m thinking about getting the Spanx Higher Power because the waist starts right under the bra line and the bottom is like exercise shorts so there won''t be any lines at all. My dress is very form fitted around the middle and while I''m a tiny girl, I''m super paranoid about my stomach and I don''t want to have any lines showing. So I think my mission will be to get these. I''ll try to find a picture.

I''m all about the functional and slimming vs. the sexy! I figure when the night is over, I''ll put on some kind of lingerie but while everyone is going to be staring at me in my dress, I want no lines and a flat stomach!

I hope the picture comes up. This is the Spanx Higher Power...

Do you mind telling me what the victoria secret chicken cutlet combo is? I''m looking for some ideas up top as well as for the bottom

I have a strapless bra that comes to my waist from David''s. I really like it because it is smooth and comfortable. It does hold everything in. I heard warnings about the one''s with boning and know a girl who was in tears because she was in so much pain and ended up taking it off. I wore SPANX for the first time for a wedding on NYE. They were comfortable, I liked the fabic, very light weight, and it look good (I saw a difference). The cons were that they are expensive (I think it was $58) and when I sat down the rolled down (an inch maybe but I was worried you could see the "roll" through my dress.) so I had to keep yanking them up. Maybe I should have got a smaller size (I got a medium and I am a size 4). I know the higher ones hook into your bra so that would solve the problem but it had a slit in the crouch which kind of wierded me out. I also tried FOOT PETALS and was also disappointed. Through the balls of my feet were more comfortable. The pad pushed my foot up and so it sat uncomfortably in my shoes. The straps were killing my feel so bad I changed shoes.

Ummmm... no real advice on specifically what to wear, but make sure you can use the bathroom in whatever you end up wearing! I ended up cutting the crotch out of my pantyhose (see below) so I could use the facilities.

HERE you can read the hilarious story of the pantyhose...

Tacori - it sounds like the Spanx would eliminate my little problem then... Might be a stellar choice!
