I sometimes think it’s an Aussie thing for people ask how much it costs. No shame! Here everyone is obsessed with houses and if you buy or sell, even complete strangers will ask you “how much did you pay /get” and then they’ll give you their opinion (unrequested) on whether it was too much or not enough AND then you’ll get the story about their aunt or cousin who did this / got that/ was told this - all from a complete random stranger!

Ugh this a thousand times :doh:why are we Aussies so impolite about money? I mean sure I'll tell family & close friends how much things cost, especially if its a bargain but complete strangers? None of your bees wax mate....:roll

Umm OK - well - I'm in for a bit of culture shock when I repatriate in November. Yikes.

They get snobby about which suburb you live in too. It’s ok. My standard retort is that my “lower class” bogan suburb is very safe and cheap to live in. The reason is because all of the bogan robbers in my suburb go to your “high class” suburb and rob folks there instead!

Wow, I would die if anyone asked me how much anything cost. Here in the polite south, we just whisper our speculations to our friends.

I share your pain (size 8 fingers) AND I’ve got meaty earlobes. Everything looks minuscule on me.

Yup that. Maybe we should have a separate discussion on what size stones are normal on people like us who have plus sized fingers

I’m in the UK, and a lot of my friends have small diamonds. Upgrading isn’t really a ‘thing’ here, a lot of women stick with their original ER.

For me personally, I wouldn’t be comfortable wearing anything bigger than 3cts say about 9mm as I have small hands but large fingers. Unfortunately anything smaller than that looks really small on me. My friend has tiny fingers and half a carat looks a really good size on her.

Well I’m having to eat my words here, because my beautiful Bella has just arrived and she’s 4.56ct and over 10mm and is just perfect
