What the HECK is that on my TV?!!

I don't even bother w/a lot of the new shows anymore. I like to watch my old faves like Golden Girls, Roseanne, Frasier, Everybody Loves Raymond and Will & Grace. I sometimes watch LA Ink and I love the wedding shows. That's about it. Oh, we like the show..Gangland I think it's called? About different gangs and prisons etc. Sometimes we watch Wife Swap and Trading Spouses and talk about how we're too middle of the road and would never fit on those shows..tho secretly I think it would be funny to be on it and switch w/an anti gun/hunting/fur/meat mom.

I almost never watch TV because I refuse to watch trash. I only go to movies that would be appropriate for my child to see! I will admit to watching 24 the last two seasons, but it went over my limit for violence the last season. I like Cake Boss and some of the home shows occasionally. I am taping Say Yes to the Dress because our older daughter will be getting engaged soon! Oh, I watched The Wedding Planner the other night and liked it. My hubby watches things on the science and history channels, etc. I just refuse to support those who are so desperate to get rich that they will abandon all decency and morality to do so. Yeah, it's a free country, but I think it is terrible that these things are on prime time TV now.

I agree with what you're saying. Tonight I was visiting my 85 year old mother in the hospital and we were watching 2 and a half men. (believe it or not, she likes the show but does complain that it gets too "racy"). In one scene Charlie was having a conversation with a woman while she was giving Allen a lap dance, and she was getting into really inappropriate positions. Frankly, she was simulating sex acts. And Allen kept inferring he was aroused. Not only was the scene gross, tasteless and offensive, it was also not funny. I too enjoy the older shows (I'm so excited to see Golden Girls fans, it's my favorite!) The writing is crisp and clever, and the plots don't always constantly rely on blatant sexual situations. The gratuitous sex is just out of control on some of these shows.
