I usually pass out around 12-1 Mountain time, and wake up whenever FF gets me up or if given the chance, I''ll get up around 11. Unfortunately I have an alarm that wakes me up at ten, so I can take meds, but I can usually push it back an hour or so. So around 10-11 hours on the weekends. About 7 on the weekdays when FF gets me up at 8 for school or whatever.
i don''t know this abbreviation.

I normally go to bed between 11 and 12pm and wake up around 8am-I love my sleep although I can never lie on.

I go to bed when I''m tired or midnight, whichever comes first. Usually between 10:30-11:30. I get up at 6:15.

I go to bed somwhere between 930 1000. Up at 530 to 6. I need about 7 to 8 hours and I never ever sleep in.

Almost never?!

I can go to bed at midnight or 5 am. My insomnia is awful.

I am lucky to get 2-4 hours per night.
Oh DF I feel so sorry for you. Chronic insomnia is terrible.
I have found that some of my clients benefit from listening to Cd''s not to get off to sleep but during the day that allow their brain to rest and rejuvenate. One I particular llike is thisd one http://www.immrama.org/insight/insight.html.
It is just tones in the background of rain but it is really effective in making yyou feel more relaxed and rested. It works on the brain waves to create a similar state as deep meditaion.
I use it a couple of times a week during the afternoon to just chill out and I owouldn''t be without it.

lately I''ve been going to bed anywhere from 12 to 4am.

I have such insomnia unless I take a sleeping pill though

Need about 8 hours to feel good ,sometimes get a bit less.Try to go to bed by 10 but not always succeed..

I''m a night owl. I go to sleep when I''m sleepy (watch TV in bed) which is usually somewhere between midnight at the earliest and 1-2 a.m. on the average. I''m up by 6 a.m.

I know I''d feel better if I got more sleep but I love watching TCM.

No matter what I end up feeling sleepy at some point during the day.

I try to go to bed at 10:00 to be up at 6:30 for 8.5hr sleep. Often I don''t get there til 10:30-11:30. Good thing is, I''m totally out within 5 minutes. Then the cat wakes me up at 5:00-5:30, then I''m back to sleep within 5 minutes.

When I don''t have to get up in the morning, I could go to bed anywhere from 12:00-4:00.

When im working i need 7-8 hours, but can get by on 6 if needed.I am a night owl as of late so i go to bed around 1 am.

During the week, I''m in bed by 11:00 and up by 6:30 or so.

On the weekends, we''re in bed by about 12:30 am and not up until 10:00 or so.

I would say on average I go to bed at 1 am, but I will usually watch TV or read once I am there. Lights out by 2 am at the very latest...I have young children, and the night time is the only me time I get!

During the week I am up by 8 am to get my son off to school. Weekends I am LUCKY if I get to sleep until 9.

I am also an insomniac...and a night owl. I have never been a morning person...I was born at 10 something a.m. and my mother swears I came into the world at the time I was meant to wake up for the rest of my life. My day may start at 8 sometimes, but god forbid anyone try to talk to me and expect a civilized reaction before then. It's terrible, and I used to feel really bad about it, but in the past couple of years I have come to accept that that is just me and so has DH, poor guy.

I honestly need probably 7.5-8 hours of sleep for a few nights in a row to feel "normal." When I only get a few hours here and there I am in a horrible mood all day and really have to work at keeping a positive attitude and being friendly to whomever I come in contact with. Typically I go to sleep at 1-2 a.m. and wake up at 9, especially in recent times since I have been unemployed for the past few months. Some nights I am just too wound up (like tonight) to even think about going to bed...I might get 2-3 hours of sleep tonight since I need to be up at 7, and I will make it through the day just fine but will pay for it again tomorrow night by not being able to fall asleep! Then on Sunday I will just crash around 5 or 6 and sleep for 12 hours probably. My mother was similar with her sleeping habits when I was growing up, I don't think it's hereditary, but I think I sort of learned my sleeping habits from her, she was a SAHM.

DH, otoh, typically takes a 45 minute nap after work, goes to bed around 11, falls asleep by 12, and gets up at 6:30 or 7. He takes pride in being a morning person, and he has always hated that I am not, which is sort of understandable, I wouldn't wish anyone the grumpy attitude that I have in the mornings.

Ha, I am such a morning person. And my hubby totally is NOT. Makes for some interesting mornings

I get so bored on the weekends sometimes, waiting for him to wake up! I woke up at 6:30 AM today, even though I went to bed later than normal. I am cursed with a very strong circadian rhythm and my body wants to wake up at the same time everyday, no matter what time I go to bed. This makes weekends tough, because they make me MORE tired and are not a time to "catch up" on sleep.

Right now, bed time is somewhere in the 10-11 range because I am getting up at 5:30 to be to the hospital. Ideally, 8.5 hours nightly would be awesome but this pretty much never happens. I am miserable when I am tired too. My patients will loooove me when I am on overnight call! Maybe not so much. I can''t wait until residency days when I am waking up at 4:30 everyday to be at the hospital. bed time will move quickly to 9 pm every night no doubt. I''ll be a bundle of fun!

It''s funny -- I find whenever I have to wake up to an alarm clock (whether for work or pleasure), I get a terrible night''s sleep. I find myself waking up every hour or so (more frequently as the wake-up time gets closer) so I never slept well. Add that to 4-5 hours a night while I was teaching (11 yrs) and I''m a tired girl.

Fast forward to now, where I am not working plus I''m pregnant. I think I''m awake for about 3 hours a day.
25.gif

Depends on my class schedule. If I have afternoon classes as many as 9 hours. I go to bed in-between 12 and 3 on typical nights. If it''s an all-nighter I go to bed around 5 or 6. I need to get up at 7 or so for the next month, so I''m looking at an average of 5-6 hours!

Uninterrupted, I can usually sleep around 10 hours quite contentedly. But most nights, I''m in bed (lights and TV off) by 11pm, then wake up around 8am. Sometimes earlier, depending on my schedule. If I get under 8 hours sleep, I notice that I''m sleeeeeepy (yawning, eyes heavy) all morning long.
Ditto. Me too!

I so sympathise. I would LOVE to be a morning person.

I probably have more productive hours in a day than a lot of my ''morning'' friends, but people always think you are lazy if you get up late.

Luckily, parliament doesn''t start till 11am, and everyone I work with now knows not to bother calling me until 11am. I will get up early for special meetings etc, but it''s a painful experience.

They''re very understanding at work and have no problem with my coming in late and leaving late - but the idea of moving to a different company would terrify me. I am also terrified about having kids for one reason - potential early mornings and the ghastly concept of eventually having to get them to school on time!

I would love to find a painless way for walking up early and being capable of having a polite conversation with someone on a daily basis.

On weeknights during the school year, I try to be in bed by 11:30 and get up around 6:45, so around 7 hours. In the summer and on weekends, I usually stay up until midnight and sleep until about 8:00-8:30, 8-8 1/2 hours.

I too am a night owl coupled with insomnia. I am NOT a morning person. I am snarky and nasty before noon and lots of coffee, I snarl a lot in the morning. I used to never schedule class in college before noon if I could help it. And even then I could be late.
