What WON''T you do?

Great topic!

I won''t kill bugs. Even one of my cats is afraid of bugs!

I won''t do much with taking care of his dog. I will put the dog out and feed him if FI isn''t home on time but other than that the surprises left on our lawn, baths and other care is left to FI. I take care of my two kitties including the dreaded litter pan but I have a Litter Bot that does most of the work for me

We cook an equal amount but he does not bake so that''s my duty. I will break down the recycling but he lugs the container to the curb and he takes out the trash (because we have to pay per bag for special town bags we cram a LOT into each bag and they get so heavy I''ve been known to use our wheelbarrel to get the trash out when he forgets). I will mow the lawn only under dire circumstances. We have an old fashioned mower that is not self-propelled so it''s literally a half day job for me!

I have specifics on how things get cleaned so I pretty much take care of the house in terms of dusting etc. and because I love to garden, I take care of our flowers. Almost everything else he will do. We each do our own laundry.

We are not living together, and I am making an effort to establish the clearness that we are NOT married and NOT living together and it's HIS house to take care of and not mine. So mine is more of a "what I don't do now" instead of what I won't do once we are engaged or married.

I don't mind throwing his laundry in with mine since I use his W/D, and we cook and clean up dinner together, but I do not and will not "clean" the house, meaning I won't scrub the bathroom or sweep the floors or any of that regular maintenance type stuff. I occasionally have done little things, like I scrubbed out the toilet bowls while he was at work and then he finished the bathrooms since his parents were coming, or I will start a load of laundry for him or pick up things while I'm out that I know he needs, but for the most part I make sure that those are random acts of kindness and not me "pulling my weight" around the house. Sometimes I have to sit on my hands though because he's not running things exactly how I would if it were my house.

Once we're married, there's nothing I'll refuse to do, but I'm sure we'll fall into a normal routine. He likes mowing the yard, so more power to him!

ETA: he says he won't change diapers, but whatever.

He will NOT pick up dog poo. He will take the dog out, but he won't clean up after it without industrial size gloves. He always comes back with an empty bag though. I bet if he got a $500 ticket, he would start picking it up...

I'm not sure what I won't do... I'm a pretty fantastic superwoman

I mow, kill bugs, I even caught 2 mice with a hanger and a plastic bag. Even SO was impressed by that! (I will admit, I screamed while doing it, lol!)

I will not touch bugs or spiders. She won''t either, which presents a bit of a dilemma.

She is braver, though, so usually she throws something like a shoe at it to kill it. If that doesn''t work I break out the puppy eyes and she''ll suck it up and do it.

She will not touch raw meat. We don''t cook a lot yet, but we will be doing more of that as the years go on, and I am fine with doing it.

Otherwise, we will both do anything, and divide equally what there is to get done at any point in time. We are much more concerned about it being equal than about which things we have to do.

there's nothing i won't do. i grew up in a house with a mom and a sister, so i had no concept of "man chores" (which it turns out i was assigned the majority of

). my mom worked two jobs for a long time and has MS, so she didn't have the time or energy to do a lot of housework, so it was almost all split between me and my sister, and i definitely did my time mowing the lawn, taking out the trash, picking up dog poop, other yard work, cleaning the toilet, etc. i've also lived on my own in a couple different apartments, so it's not like a have a lot of options!

he won't kill bugs. i think that's about it.

I will NOT kill, touch, or trap bugs!!!

There are lots of cleaner type things that I''ve always grown up with and C just won''t do, but they aren''t very labor intensive so I don''t mind. They''re more for my own piece of mind than anything. (ie, replace the 2000 Flushes for the toilet... he claims he doesn''t know how... LOL!!!)

There''s nothing I won''t do, really.

I''ve cleaned out the fridge, taken out the trash, killed bugs (although I prefer he do it), cleaned his bathroom, done his laundry, the list goes on and on...

I guess I don''t mow the lawn, but we both live in an apartment... so I can''t... ha ha.

I cannot deal with insects at all.

I am not super strong so most things that take really physical strength are out.

I have done all things, but prefer to not do much of that stuff now. I hate smells of chemicals and get headaches from them. Luckily I have a cleaning lady and can clean very minimally.

I am a pretty good organizer though.

Ok so I wont:
vacumm (I dunno I hate it and we have stairs...ughh..and FF loves it..so more power to him)
wash the cars
killing bugs.. ughhhhh no...

He wont:
clean out the cat box

I would mow the lawn..I used to at my parents and I enjoyed it because we had a riding mower..and I would mow my name in the lawn... hehehe

we''ve been sharing alot of the chores now though...

Man oh man, sometimes I feel like I really don''t belong here. What with the title of this thread and the winking smiley next to it, my mind went straight to the gutter.

In answer to the actual question, um, I won''t do all of the housework. As long as we split stuff up, I don''t really care what I''m doing. Some things I prefer not to do, but I''ve lived on my own before and had to do it all, so it''s whatev. Doing half of icky things is much nicer than having to do 100% of icky things.

haha Gwen-I thought the exact same! I was thinking can we post on here

I''m the same though-there''s nothing that I wouldn''t do and I''m happy so long as we''re splitting things.

i moved out of my house and into an apt. about 2 seconds after I graduated from HS. I can, and have, done it all, but at this point:

I WON''T:
Clean my house (got a cleaning lady)
Mow the lawn (got a landscaper)
Shovel (thas SO''s job!)
Take out the trash (but of coarse I had to this AM because SO is gone for the weekend!)
Kill BIG bigs - I.E crickets. They FREAK me out. Same with Moths. TOO big and juicy YUUUUKKK!!!
Do anything that requires heavy lifting....

He WON''T
Fold laundry. I just gave up on that - he really does not know how to fold. I don''t get it!
Cook
Grocery shop

I can''t complain. I guess all I do is shop, cook and do laundry which is OK by me! These days, in my area, it is SO inexpensive for a cleaing lady and a guy to cut the lawn. It''s totally woth it.

Assembling furniture, killing bugs and taking the trash out!

When I lived with my parents I would mow the lawn voluntarily b/c it is such a good workout!

UHG..... BLECK......

Yeah I know - sorry! Not too well put, but I know you get the gist!
Those are usually the bugs that are taken outside.

We saw the BIGGEST SPIDER EVER last weekend at our camp. SO killed it...... but we were both like WTF and THANK GOD it was not inside the house, but still on the porch.

I''m not dumb though - if it can be on the porch, it can get in the camp. I know it.....

Help....
