Since I''m on here and she''s not, I''d like to think I got a beautifully cut e-ring at a good price. Since she still makes comments about how she loves her ring and I''m still getting brownie points for it (even tho we''ve been married over a year now), I''d like to think I did pretty good.

The question was what if SHE got YOU some jewelry (wedding band, watch, cufflinks... whatever) without you, what would you have ended up with.

I think my husband has pretty good taste. He bought me a three stone necklace, saphire with two small diamonds on the sides, that i wear everyday... now the saph is dark and the side stone not THAT sparkly but I love it and it is very pretty.

He picked out my e-ring on his own and I adore it. However, at the beginning, I wanted something more antique looking and actually wanted him to propose with my great grandmother''s e-ring that I inherited (it is beautiful, an antique cut 2+ carats maybe a K color with lots of detail work)... however he really wanted to buy something for me on his own. I love my ring and he followed my 2 instructions (thinnest band possible- my band tapers to only 1mm at the tips of the pear sidestone so it looks very thin from the top- and platinum).

I did give him specfic instructions on what I wanted for my 1 year wedding anniversary present - a tiffany-style bezel set pendent solitaire necklace

My husband has excellent taste in jewelry. His previous purchases for me were fantastic, and I wear them as right hand rings now, or sometimes sandwiched between my e-ring and w-ring.

If I had never had any input in this whole process, he would have gotten me about a .5 ct. round six prong Tiffany style ring from BBB or some other incredibly overpriced mall store. I''m sure I would have loved it, but I''m so happy he put his design skills to work and created this beautiful ring that I now wear.
