Hi,
I am looking for round brilliant diamond with the following specifications (Budget 10K).

Carat: 1.25 - 1.3 (GIA 3x)
Clarity: VS2
Color: F
Cut: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Polish: Excellent
Fluroscence: None
Culet: None

I found one stone that meets the above specifications (see below) and results in an HCA score of 2.5.

Carat Weight:1.29 ct.
Cut:Excellent
Color:F
Clarity:VS2
Depth:62.5%
Table:57%
Polish:Excellent
Symmetry:Excellent
Culet:None
Fluorescence:None
Girdle:Medium
Measurements:6.94-6.97x4.30

Questions:
1. How do you measure visual performance (brilliance, sparkel, scintillation, fire etc) of the diamond and what tools are a must use?

2. What would a fair price be for this stone?

3. Can anyone help me find great stones? I have read every knowledge article on this site and am burnt out. :)

Kind Regards!

Additionally, has anyone used or recommend using a GCAL evaluation?

Specifications and measurements looks OK.

Can you post some ASET and actual photos of this diamond?

Where are you buying this diamond from ?

What is the price of this diamond???

Unfortunately, the jeweler doesn't have any technical pictures of this stone (ASET, IDEALSCOPE ETC). I am buying it from a local jeweler and wanted to know what visual tests are absolutely a must in rating the visual performance for this stone. Can anyone guide me in that direction?

In person, the stone looks eye-clean and very white but what are the next steps in evaluating the performance? It does come with a GIA cert.

Also, the jeweler has priced it at $13,500.

What are the crown and pavilion angles?

Aplogies for not posting that info earlier.

Crown Angle: 35 degrees
Pavillion Angle: 41 degrees

How would you rate this stone? 1.29 ct GIA 3x

Any feedback on this stone?

The GIA numbers are heavily rounded, and most of the time it is not a problem; this is a borderline case on HCA and the 62.7% is on the high side for 57T/35CA/41PA which points to the angles likely being rounded down.

In all likelihood, it is a stunning diamond, especially if tightly cut and lgf% on the long side. If you want, you can buy an Ideal Scope and check it out.

What is the lower girdle facet length, it is usually 75% or 80%.

If this stone is under 10K, that is a very good price. I can find only a few comparable diamond under 10K on the Pricescope search.

Here are the proportions from the GIA report. Would it be 80% per the diagram?

That stone faces up a little smaller than it should due to the excessive depth. We usually tell people that 62.3 is the depth limit unless you want to lose diameter of your stone. And, it is just priced way too high.

I want to show you another 1.29 F VS2 that has good numbers across the board and it's price is $10,606! This jeweler will provide idealscope images, too. It also faces up at 7.04x7.07mm because it has a lesser depth than the one you posted.

This is great find! Is there a reason it doesn't have a GIA cert number? How do you verify the stone corresponds to this cert?

Yes, the 80 is what I was looking for

DS's linked stone does have a GIA number.

Great, thanks DS and Julie! I do now see the GIA number listed in the details.

Julie, is 80% for lgf alarming to you?

No, 80 is preferred. GIA rounds, 80 could be anywhere from 77 to 82,but it's pretty rare to see it taken to 82.
