''expert selection'' (es) are stones that have been hand selected for ''in house'' inventory and are readily available. other stones are from a virtual database and would have to be shipped in for analysis. you might be able to find some bargain stones that aren''t es, but there isn''t really any need to search for the needle in the haystack with so many great stones at your disposal in es and aca.

I agree with belle. You can''t go wrong with an ES or ACA. In fact, I just ordered a pair of earrings from two of their ES stones!

So what you are saying if I do find that one diamond that is NOT Expert selection I save myself over 500 dollars?

sure! go for it. let us know how it works out for you!

Expert Selection = hand picked diamonds for their stellar cut performance AND great price points.

Other Diamonds = virtual database list of diamonds, no real way to determine any sort of brilliance or cut quality by the information given.

There's a reason the virtual stones are cheaper. But yeah if you want to look at it that way, if you bought that second stone, you surely would save yourself $500. Well actually by the time WF calls in the stone for you and then charges you for it and the shipping to and from, maybe more like $350? And if that stone ends up not working out...because it's kind of a hit or miss with the virtuals, then you would be back to square one AND out $150.

Sound like a win win? Not so much!

Great virtuals CAN be found, but the only reason I would ever go a'lookin is if the inventory of all the in-house diamonds was SO slim that nothing could be found for my range..and if I had the time and money to spend looking for that elusive stone.
