thritto Deb. Most expensive bag was $70? Fossil fabric bag (think I might have even posted about it on some thread here). I am actually quite relieved I''m not a bag person. I already love gemstones, so my other hobbies/interests need to be rather modest to balance things out!

That is how I felt when I finally got it!! But after using it, I realized just how well it is made. It is a VERY sturdy bag!!!

But Madame B''s bleu Hermes really makes me want one! I went to a party last night (a dinner for a famous jeweler - I was a guest of a guest, I am not so big league

. Of about 12 women there were 4 Hermes bags, 3 of them Birkin. They looked great! It makes me feel pretty conformist, but now I want one

One thing about expensive handbag is that if you keep it in good shape, it is saleable at any time. Ok, trying to rationalize.......

$1100 LV bag sounds like you''re a big spender to me, hehe.! And I hear you on the Birkin, I would love one but it is simply out of reach. Maybe if 12 of us here go in on it we can share it and each of us gets it for one month??

For me it was my LV Manhattan PM. It was around $800. I ended up selling it because it was just not a comfortable bag to carry, and I get bored of bags. Lately I''ve been hitting the Coach outlet because I feel guilty spending $$$ on myself.

Hmm. The most expensive purse I own is around $500. It''s a delicious Marc by Marc Jacobs purple leather handbag. Love it. However, FI bought it for me. The most expensive purse I''ve every bought for myself was around $80. Would I love a $2000+ handbag? Absolutely! Will I ever have one unless I win the lottery or FI wins the World Series of Poker? Probably not.

This is my Belen Echandia Take Me Everywhere in wine sheen. The price, IIRC was $675.00. BE bags, IMO, are a great value. The leathers are gorgeous and the styles appeal to me. The bags are hand made in Italy in very small quantities. The owner is a small independent designer, who specializes in personalized customer service. Sorry to sound like an advertisement, but I am very pleased with these bags. I now own seven of them, in various styles

Lauren, you're right, the weaving is incredible, especially with the butter-like BV leather. I don't know if the first photo I posted shows the detail clearly but BV did something a little different with this bag. Instead of the flat linguine-like strips of leather they normally use, they made tubular strips like perciatelli and hand wove them instead. It makes the bag look a little more puffy/smooshy.

It's nice to find other PSers who share an appreciation for Bottega.

what does everyone think about trying to sell my LV? it was 495euro in October 2008. And ive only used it a handful of times because it doesnt really suit where i live...

My most expensive purses that I bought brand new are around 2000 or 3000. I have more expensive ones that I purchased second hand. However, I am on a purse freeze - no more purses for a while (clutches don't count!). But I love purses... even possibly more than diamonds and gemstones!

This speedy (on the top) may not have been my most expensive bag, but considering that it still has the protective plastic on the handles; based on cost per wear this one is a zinger.

I am still too scared to take it out; I love it so.

No offense taken Kenny!! I do know that some of these handbag prices are too crazy and half the time I carry a soft little nylon bag that is from Target (9.99)! But in the scheme of big bag spenders I am a lightweight - relatively speaking. After all most of the world would think we at PS are quite crazy to pay what we do for shiny pebbles
