Ok, am feeling a bit moody because the staff at my college really, really, REALLY suck. But I will tell that story when it has an ending.

Anyway! Am trying to cheer myself up, and since after two weeks of being sick I can now eat (and hold down) food, I thought I'd ask you lovely ladies what kind of food you like best? I'd do a poll, but I don't want to leave anyone's favourite food out and offend by accident.

I LOVE Thai. I mean, I am mad-crazy in love with Thai food. When J came down to school for my birthday in March, we went out for Thai and it was SOOOOO GOOOOOOOD. We got a couple of appetizers and I got pad thai (my favourite dish in the whole world) and he got this ginger lamb dish and he said our food that night was so good, it bumped Thai up to be one of his favourite kinds of food! So so so so SO delicious!!!!! Whenever I want to really treat myself, I usually go for a good Thai. Yummeh.

So what's your favourite?

ETA: Oh, I showed this thread to J and he said a) he could eat that picture and b) he got ginger pork, not lamb.

What type of pizza? Plain cheese or do you like certain toppings on it?

SUSHI! Hands down, sushi.

The BF and I go every single Wednesday to the same little place that''s hardly known -- best sushi in Michigan, I swear. The owner always gives us free nigiri or free sushi rolls.

SO delicious. I crave sushi like crazy. LOVE IT!

I love a good grilled cheese sandwich.

Haha, I think sushi is probably my 2nd favourite (well, that or Chinese, depends on my mood). There''s this place near where I used to live that has a rotating sushi bar with these two awesome chefs who will cook whatever you want behind the bar and it is THE BEST. Plus there''s this yummy sauce that they have that''s kind of white and creamy and sweet and a little tangy (no idea what it''s called) and it is like crack to me. I love it. Mmmmm....now I want sushi!

My favorite is Thai too Gwendolyn! I enjoy a good Pad Thai, but Pad Kemau (spelling?) is quite satisfying too. It has tomato and thai basil, YUM
3.gif
. I also dig Indian food; there are a lot of overlap flavors betweenThai and Indian

Oo Oo another vote for Thai!

My favorite is green curry! Yummie!

I also love Japanese hibachi. That yellow hollandaise type sauce they all use is just to die for!

Oh and Sushi is always a good choice!

One of my favorite things about my SO is that he will eat anything! It''s so awesome most of my exes were meat and potato type guys who hardly ever ate a vegetable and it drove me nuts(which by the way one ex ate with the shells on YUCK)!

Oooh, I wonder if the ''yellow hollandaise type sauce'' is the same kind of sauce I''m talking about at my rotating sushi bar! If so, I will have to see if I can track it down in the supermarkets here for when I get sushi because it IS to die for! Soooooooooo good!!!!!!!!

Yikes! HARD QUESTION!!!!!

Well, I guess a food I could not live without would have to be a good old plate of rice, beans and tostones (fried plantains)--Being Colombian, this cannot be helped.
3.gif

However, it doesn't stop there...I love, love, love Indian (esp. Tikki Masala & Veggie Biryani--yum!), Thai (Gwen
2.gif
), Sushi (Lauren
2.gif
), any and all seafood (esp. "Lobstah," as they say back home)...pretty much everything! I guess I didn't answer correctly huh? I can't help it, I love too many different kinds of food!!! Definitely a foodie, I am.

Oh, and Pizza! And Flan! And Chocolate Cake (but only good, dense cake), Pistachio ice cream (actually any ice cream, whatsoever), Pasta w/ Pesto, spring rolls, noodles in peanut sauce...the list goes on and on. I am getting fat just typing.

Very Fun Post!

LOL. I heart you, Bia.

Yeah, pizza for me too. And I love spaghetti!

Appetizer: Potato Skins with sour cream!

Entree: Really great cut of steak or Thai.

Dessert: Cake!!! Especially cake from Montillio''s Bakery. Mmmmmm!

Wow--I don't know if I can choose! I love thai, tapas, sushi, mexican, vietnamese, italian, american (not like hot dogs--more like wine country cuisine), indian, french, middle eastern, and I'm probably leaving some stuff out! OH! I have a total weakness for English pub food. Steak and Ale Pie is delicious, and fry ups? OMG. So yeah...I am obviously not a very picky eater, but I do love to eat. Basically, I don't care what kind of food it is, as long as it's GOOD. Man, now I'm getting hungry...I am such a foodie.

As far as favorite food in general, cheese wins hands down. Yum!

ETA: OMG--how did I forget CUBAN? Oh how I love pulled pork and plantains. Pretty much the only foods I don't like (with the exception of processed anything--we try to do everything from scratch) are hard boiled eggs. Bleach!

ETA Again: So Gwen, if you like food and your moody, does that make you a moody foodie?

Yumm...what a great thread!!! My favorite is going out for buffalo wings. I want some right now..!

I would have to stick with my southern Heritage and pick our "Southern" food. Who can pass up Creamed Corn, Mashed potatoes with cheese, some great gator tail, sea food, smoked mullet dip, smoked crab or steamed crab, sweet potato casserole, home made fried chicken, home made cole slaw, broccoli casserole, frog legs, All of this coming from someone who is trying to go veggie
20.gif
I''m ashamed of myself
15.gif
27.gif
. I''m sorry but I don''t really consider frogs..... meat. They''re like eating seafood to me.

Second would be Italian. I will PUT AWAY some lasagna and tiramisu, or a white pizza mmmm.

Mostly whatever I won't do at home, so usually no chicken unless it is fried, and I will do salads that have lots of chopped stuff since I am lazy to do it at home.

I love comfort food. Mac and cheese, beef stroganoff, grilled cheese sandwiches, stew. Creamy and cheesy work for me.
I love soups.

I love pasta and risotto, but not just pasta with a sauce that I could make at home.

I also love brunch food, eggs benedict is my favorite.

I love french fries that are crispy, and good mashed potatoes too.

I usually avoid sandwiches in general except the grilled ones and also reubens, which I adore, and BLT's and tuna melts. They are easy to make at home, the BLT and tuna melts, and I do, but I like them out too.

I adore Mexican and Greek food as well as Italian, and sometimes like Japanese.

Why do these threads happen when I am hungry?!

I hear you on the Reubens--yum! There''s an awesome pastrami place in town that makes such good ones...too bad they''re so bad for you.

Sushi!
18.gif

I have a real thing about salmon sashimi...

I could not believe how amazingly cheap sushi is in the US. FI and I were there for 2 weeks last year and I swear we had sushi every other night.

The portions were at least twice the size they are here and a third of the price.
38.gif

Thai!!! The soups, the curries, the sauces. Now I''m hungry and I highly doubt I can get a booking for the Thai by us for Friday night.

But I''m also a fan of Chinese (wish we had a good one close) and Indian (we have plenty of those!!). Really, there are so many reasons that I can''t move back to the US. Food is a big one.

Ok. This is an impossible question Gwen. I love food. Like, love it enough to make a career out of it, spend 5 years of my life cooking professionally, get a degree in it and have a whole bookcase dedicated to my cook books. So this is seriously impossible.

Ok, here goes nothing: I prefer Asian foods over pretty much everything else, but if I have a craving for Greek, French or heck, pretty much anything else, you''d better not get in my way. My least favorite is Italian. But it depends on what kind of Italian it is-because American Italian food is gross (IMHO) but I''ve had the real deal from Italian born, bred, and taught chefs- and that is amazing.

So to sum up, I''ll eat anything and everything (including smoked ants!). But one food I don''t like? Raw broccoli. Gross.

And one food I''ll go out of my way to eat, or make a whole batch of so I can eat one? Creme Brulee.

Anything that goes with a big, earthy Cabernet! So, I guess it would be a medium rare filet mignon. Yummy!

Oh, but I also love sushi and with a crisp Sauvignon Blanc.

Japanese, Chinese, SUSHI! MMMMMMMMM sushi. *mouth waters*

Sushi. Hands down.

Between my guy and I, we can outcook most restaurants but sushi is a different story.

I just ate but now I'm hungry for sushi ...

Anyone wanting sushi in a quiet place while in Toronto must check out a place called Vincent Sushi; it's tiny, they don't speak much English, and the sushi is incredible. The make the BBQ eel on-site, and it will make your brain explode.

Mmmm.

I just had to respond to this thread because I opened it up while I was on the phone ordering thai food, haha.

I love thai. Actually, I love anything, but my favorite takeout is sushi. I love great sushi, my mercury levels must be through the roof. DH calls it my "$300/month addiction" and though I''m the biggest cheapskate ever I can''t help it.

But just think about your cell membranes luxuriating in all thoses omegas, not to mention your muscles frolicking with the clean protein strands and your thyroid bowing to the fearsome regulating powers of nori.
