Confession time. Right after buying the two spinel stones from Jason, I ran across these from J Krantz. I tried to resist, but I have very little self control. Each is 1 carat red spinel mounted in 22k yellow gold cup bezels.

Sometimes, that lack of control can be a pretty cool thing! I love your new studs, Uppy!! They are gorgeous!!! :appl:

Wow, those are perfect. Can I vote for putting the other pair in a halo :naughty:

You don't waste your time Uppy

If these are as nice as I hope, I will save the other ones for halos. Have to save my pennies for that.

I love colored stones in 22k! Nothing wrong with having two. They are different styles after all.

Good job, Uppy! Love them, and the setting(s) -- simple & elegant & the buttery gold makes the spinels just pop. Way to go!

You crack me up, you really do (and you know I mean that in the best possible way). This pair look like "Uppy" everyday earrings, so now you can use the others for "dress up". 8-)

Love the cupped setting and 18k yellow metal. Are the spinels red or purplish? They look more purplish in the frontal pictures. I take it you haven't seen them yet?

 :appl:

Ha! I think it's unnecessary to have two pairs, so you should sell this one to me. :Up_to_something:

Kidding, of course. These are lovely, and different enough, especially if you halo the other stones, to justify two pairs for sure! Fun! :appl:

Okay, Uppy, gotta know - did you feel guilty enough to hide the packaging, or did you open the packages and throw 'em away before anyone noticed?!

...and in case that sounded snarky, I totally support you buying them both - they're so different and so lovely. :appl:

 Oh you are a treat Uppy

At least these will satisfy your lust for everyday red earrings and the cups should tone down the "blingyness" of the spinels - they're lovely. However I have to confess I just love the elegance and simplicity of the drops you've been contemplating. Maybe one diamond at the top of the drop/beginning of ear wire? That way they wouldn't have to wait for setting quite so long.

Congratulations sweetie - two very good purchases  :appl:

Speedy delivery!! Better than expected. I have family here so only time for a quick earshot before the go in for a long bath and their glamour shots. Please be kind to the ear.

Whow, those pictures look like crap! These stones are so red and glowy irl. And I love the buttery gold cups. I'll have to hurry and get a better shoot of them, but cause this is just wrong.

Perfect :appl: :appl: :appl:

Speedy delivery and perfect indeed :)) :appl:

Does anyone know someone who will polish the table facets without removing the stones from their bezels? There are a few dings at the meet points on the table, but I don't want to risk messing up the earrings.

I don't think a mounted stone can be repolished because it has to be done by machine. Uppy, your pics are too dark for me to make out anything else other than they are round.
