Where Could the Diamond Industry Use a Refresh?

I’ve been following the diamond industry with a lot of interest lately and I’m curious to hear from people working in it day-to-day.

What are some challenges or pain points you regularly come across—whether in sourcing, cutting, certification, logistics, retail, or anything else along the pipeline?

Also, are there any parts of the industry you think could be modernized, streamlined, or improved with better tools or tech/software ?

Really appreciate any thoughts or insights you’re willing to share!

In the natural market. Since COVID and the Ukraine/Russia war, we have been told that availability has been greatly affected. The lab diamond surge has no doubt affected naturals as well. Can we expect increased production and availability of naturals anytime soon? Price predictions?

Large scale ground to consumer tracking is coming for mined diamonds.
Before the current mess I would have said coming soon but right now everyone is just trying to stay in business.
There were a couple solutions marketed but they were mostly vaporware.

Just my opinion,
Not soon.
I think prices are going to bounce all over the place for a long time.
Very long term probably up as they become actually rare.
