Which bag do you like?
Did you recognize this "Courtney" as a Marc Jacobs (how shallow am I? LOL)

The second is a Coach...I love it. but it's freakin expensive for a coach (even though several hundred cheaper than marc) This is an ebay shot but I'd buy from coach. It's the large legacy.

And also, black or white. I wear all black. I don't own brown shoes. I have one pair of tennis shoes.

Coach limited edition large legacy. Better pic here: That's the ebay pic. She wants MORE than coach. Please.

Michael Kors. But only if it comes in white or black. This prob can''t go over the shoulder.

I love the first one.

The second one by Coach looks like it would be too heavy?? The third one is out since it doesn''t come in black. Unless we can convert you, just kidding. It doesn''t look like it would be a good over the shoulder bag, IMHO.

I think I''m trying to talk myself out of #1
41.gif

I''m not to worried about weight. My MJ has two large pockets with hardware and it''s so heavy with it being loaded all the time!!! With crap!!!!
But that''s a huge price diff...

or maybe i should get a new vacuum or just forget it . I really don''t need it. but it''s for the wedding anniverary...

I like #1, but love #3. I don''t like the shape and the big buckle of #2. You know, brown is very versatile.
31.gif
But if you really want a shoulder bag, then #1 is the way to go.

I hear ya. I think I have the same Marc bag that you have. It''s heavy, but what the heck it''s gorgeous and I love it. A new vacume for a wedding anniversary present, NOOOO. My vote still goes for #1. It''s calling your name!!

#2 just doesn''t do it for me.

Brown doesn't really work. I have an large old LV (back in the day when hubby used to spoil me...long long ago :) )
and I never wear it bc it's brown...Hmmm

Kaleigh...is it the "Susanah"? It is a hobo with a thick flat strap and a pocket on each end. ?? It RULES. Tthere is a brown on ebay which is rare....

here is another pic of the coach.

I love #2!!!

But I like big bags cause I''m a big girl, lol! I''m 5''10", so I like to proportion my bags to my height. And I love big buckles and anything "extra" going on as far as hardware, trim, etc. My mother thinks I''m just tacky, ha ha! The truth is, I prefer simple, tailored clothing and clean lines in jewelry, but when it comes to bags I like to spice things up. I think handbags tell so much about a woman''s personality, especially the one she carries on a daily basis for a whole season.

Me too!!! A little over 5'10" and "big boned" LOL... I can't do a bag that is smaller than 14 or 15 in length, 5 wide and 12+ tall! It kind of sucks. :)

Is white ok? WHen I'm in all black???

The Coach one looks much better in the ad. Is it really the same bag?? haha. I guess it depends on what you are looking for. The Coach seems more casual to me because of the hardware. The MJ is more dressy & professional.

Ok that second pic is better. I''d go to a coach store and check it out. If you''re in all black a white bag is fine. I think the rules about the carpet matching the drapes went out years ago. Kind of like that silly rule about not wearing white after Labor Day. Actually I think it''s very chic.

So funny you say that Qtieki! I just saw the coach in brown on ebay and I'm not as crazy about it. I think I do love it...but the MJ is the best for my style. BUT, I don't think I'll push for it. it's freakin expensive as all hell...and most wouldn't even think it's a Marc which sounds shallow of me...but why spend all that for a nice bag when there are inexpensive very nice bags out there.

And you're right kaleigh, I should go see it...

Dyson it is!!! LOL

Go with your gut, MMM...I purchased a Kenneth Cole hobo bag recently and love it. I couldn''t find a pic or I would have tried to put it here to show you...It has a braided handle, a zippered middle compartment, and two zippered compartments on the lower part of the handle for keys and my cell, which is divine...but I bought it in brown and I am not sure if it comes in black.

I like #1...I like to keep my hands free when I shop....BTW, the KC I bought is huge, seriously. I loved the stud detailing on it and how even though it was a big bag, it was shallow enough for me to find things easily. Gosh, I wish I had a pic to show you...

I am sure, MMM, you will choose wisely...
emwink.gif

WOuld love to see it!

BTW, the Kenneth Cole was $300+ BUT it was an investment piece and looks as nice as the Marc Jacobs, in my opinion, and less money...just a thought...I own a Marc Jacobs and don''t use it as much as I do this bag. My Marc Jacobs is still new, black leather, camel suede interior, with a rolled handle and two buckled pockets on the outside. If you are interested, MMM, I would be willing to swing a deal with you...I used it maybe two times and that''s it. It got too heavy on my shoulder to use....just let me know...

I love these handbag threads!!! I prefer the Michael Kors, but between the other two definately the first one. I like Coach bags, but I just don''t like that one. Marc Jacobs is worth more and you deserve it. DO NOT tell me that you got a vacuum for your anniversary!!! By the way MMM what happened to that gorgeous maroon one you were considering?

Do you have any pix Deanna??? :)

And LOL Sundial... WIth 3 cats a Dyson sounds real nice :)
#1 is the maroon one I think...just a diff color! :) I'd prob do black.

Here she is in red.

But i so DON"T deserve it LOL...That''s the price of a nice thin wedding band though

MMM, I think white goes with almost anything! All black and a white bag would be stunning, as well as browns, earth tones, etc. Yeegadddsss I want that bag now. Dammit, I''m going to have to find some sort of knockoff, because I refuse to put money that could be used towards jewelry into a bag I will beat the crap out of in six months'' time, ha ha!

I totally vote Marc Jacobs!! I''ve been drooling over that one in white particularly...I had been eyeing the Coach Legacy, but really didn''t like it in the store. But that''s just me..

I beat up my purse too, and that''s the main reason why I haven''t gotten any brand name purses except for Coach and Dooney & Burke. I just throw them around the house when I get home. But DH really wants me to get a LV lately - he said something like he wants his wife to have one because all his female relatives (including mom and sisters) have one. I, on the other hand, want diamond hoops instead.

BTW, someone who really know their brand name purses would know that #1 is a MJ, but it''s not a common brand (I mean you don''t see them everywhere) so of course less people know it. I can definitely see your hesitation though. Purse vs. thin wedding band (not that you need one, but just the thought of it and us being PSer) is similar to my LV vs. diamond hoops situation - tough choice. haha.

I''m very hard on my bags but they hold up pretty well. Dunno. I think I started this thread for nothing. I just can''t justify it. Hmmm.

This has SERIOIUSLY nothing to do with any of this but I just saw that Ben Kingsly is in the next season of the Sopranos. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Ben Kingsly. LOVE him!!!

Ha ha, Q!

Hmmm, LV or diamond hoops... very tough choice, especially since your DH is so willing to get you the LV! My DH is way more jewelry oriented, he doesn''t understand the handbag obsession, so thank goodness I don''t really covet luxury bags! I think if I told him I wanted a LV or something in that price range for a handbag, he''d look at me like I had two heads. I think my last handbag purchase was around $200, but that included the matching wallet and cell phone holder, and he thought THAT was outrageous! He didn''t blink an eye when I wanted a Tag Heuer watch a month ago, though, and he even surprised me with one with diamond markers, lol!

I''m 5''9 1/2 and I vote #2. I saw that Coach ad and loved it then. Agree it looks better in the ad than the ebay pix, but still like it best.

p.s. - I personally wouldn''t recognize #1 as a Marc Jacobs. Looks more Hogan to me, which I usually love ... still like #2 best.

Another tall girl here (5'9")- I tried that Coach bag the day the collection was released and it felt like a shoplifter's special! I knew I'd be followed in every store I entered if I bought it and while comfortable to wear, it did have a "luggagey" feel.

As for the Marc Jacobs- I want to marry the entire new line and have it's babies, I am soooo in love with it! I was stroking the light blue, soft leather double front pocket at Bloomies and they were ready to call security. Someone keep me off the 6 train, please
3.gif

MMM- buy the entire MJ line so I can vicariously through you!

Well I''m 5''2" so I have to live vicariously through those of you who can pull off those big bags. I was excited to find the Marc Jacobs "Blake" which is a liitle more modest in size. MMM I love that MJ bag in the red color, but if you don''t want that at least give the white a try.

Hmmm deja vu, think I read this thread somewhere else....

Anyway, I vote Marc Jacobs. I know you like large bags, but since it is my opinion, the Coach just looks massive to me! I''d definitely agree with who ever said to check it out at the store. I also have a hard time rationalizing a lot of money on Coach. I do like the Daphne Satchel but every time I''m like $700 for Coach, hehe.

I went to buy an MJ last week...I was so psyched....and then Bloomies, Saks and Neimans had NOTHING remotely attractive. Even the SA''s were making fun of what there was and how ugly the bags they had in stock were! (they obviously didn''t have the one you were deciding on though, cuz that is cute!) Anyway, it was very sad
7.gif
My bf just rolled his eyes at me though. I knew I should''ve bought the blue one I wanted when they had the Bloomies presale a few weeks ago! But I was waiting for a couple paychecks *slaps forehead*!! And then I saw a Chloe Betty satchel that was cute but lol $1750 was just a *tad* over what I wanted to spend that day
3.gif
...

Sorry to get away from your post...hope you visit the bags in person and can decide, that is usually the most helpful thing for me. Sometimes I like the look of something but when I try it on just not the same. And don''t compromise...because, if you''re anything like me, you''ll buy something you think will make you happy and then still want the other bag anyway! So it ends up costing you even more $
3.gif

I love #1 and #3... but think that #3 looks great in that color. If you were to get it in black or white, my opinion is that it would not have the same effect.

#3 is more unique and #1 is nice and classy for everyday look. The Coach looks massive to me and the shape seems lopsided for some reason.

Keep us updated on what you decide!

Thanks guys! I don''t know why this is such a big deal for me. I can''t decided.....but I think that means that i''m "looking'' for something else. I really like this guy too....
