So here is my new ring...1.65 princess with halo..it is a Christopher designs setting and I know the halo is larger than the norm, but it really sparkles and flashes...which I like :).........I wanted a large look....anyway, I feel like it can be worn alone and it still looks plenty large enough on my hand..I do like the look of a stand alone engagement ring, but I may feel like wearing my wedding band sometimes too.

..do you think I should wear it alone, or what kind of band do you think would work?...I tried on the Tiffany Novo and liked the look of that...even though its very thin....I kind of feel that my band is way overpowering..
thanks!

Congrats on the new ring! I think you can wear a band with this setting, but IMO the band in your photo is a bit too large. Have you tried an eternity band that is the same width as the band on your ring?

Thankyou!...I did try on a band very similar to the setting, and for some reason I keep going back to a very thin band(?)...I love the look of a larger ring with a slim band...but who knows, I may get DSS!

A thinner band would probably work nicely, too. I am a big believer that the band should not be a distraction from the main attraction! :D

Why not maybe two really thin plain ones, one on either side?

I also would try a simple plain one.

Love you new setting! a thinner band would be perfect with it.

I agree that the current band is too large. It would be a nice ring worn alone. I do prefer a wedding band with an engagement ring, however. But I would try for a band around the width of the e-ring or slightly less. I think the super thin bands won't look right either.

Beautiful ring!!!

thanks everyone for your help!...Im going to look for a thinner band for sure...that way Im thinking I could wear it alone and then stack the thin band with the thicker band on my right hand if i want to wear it alone...
