The green sapphire on that page is ineed darker than most I''ve seen, but I obviously wasn''t sure about the green you''re after. It shows that you''re more into a green with a dark tone, but weaker saturation, and seems like most of us thought you''d like some rich, emerald green. HERE''s a link that can teach you some bits about color, and how to judge it in gemstones. It also explains why are some shades more valuable than others and what you should stay away from (unless you really love it). The link also explains other quality factors about gems so you''ll probably find it really useful.

Regarding concave cuts, try to find some videos on youtube or somewhere, if you only saw them in photos so far. You have to see how each cutting style handles light (one more shines and glows, while the other, traditional, has the light "dancing" inside), in order to be able to choose what you like best.

Enoki,
You can either contact Wink or Richard Homer directly. Wink is a very good personal friend of RH. I too am confused about your preference for a green stone. Mr. Ma Re has given a good example. I was thinking you wanted a saturated medium dark stone as well. As for concave versus traditional flat faceting, try to see a video of the stone before deciding which one you prefer. While concave cuts are beautiful, I feel that the sparkle is static and it is best suited to light coloured stones because it deepens the colour. This is where I recommend Wink. He will be able to shoot a video for you to look at and compare between a concave and traditional cut stone. Not only that, he can pull up a green sapphire and tsavorite for your viewing pleasure.

Chrono, aren''t there somewhere Wink''s videos of stones? I don''t have the link and don''t know how to find it, but have a feeling you might help here

If I remember correctly there were some videos of concave cuts there too.

Ma Re, I looked all over at www.winkjones.com and in the PS vendor gallery but could not the videos you are referring to.
