eeeewwww. i dont like beer at all. im a liquor girl

My DH likes beer like wine people like wine...and I''ve learned to really like some kinds, but it''s made it very difficult for me to pick up a Miller anymore!

My favorite is tied at Konig Ludwig Weiss and Boulevard Wheat - both are unfiltered wheat beers served with lemon. I think beer was meant to be paired with lemon.

I also like a good Belgian White. New Belgium''s Mothership Wit is excellent, I like Hoegaarden, and Allagash White, though that one is a little harder to find.

Other favorites - Bell''s Oberon, Goose Island 312, anything Octoberfest, and anything local. We''re lucky to have a couple breweries in town that are excellent. I''m a sucker for anything different, too - I like Pyramid''s Apricot Ale, Pumpkin beers - I nearly threw a fit when we visited a local brewery and I found out they were out of the sweet potato beer.

I love drinks that are not sweet (cosmo''s? Yuck!) So beer definitely fits the mold.

Love all kinds, but have a special place in my heart for Guinness. Even went to Ireland to see if it really does taste better (it does!).

If not beer, then wine. I also like a vodka martini as well as whiskey, scotch and cognac - and I''ll have those neat, thanks!

Ditto! If you''re gonna do it, do it right!

i do! My fav is a Corona with lime but I also like Sam Adams when i''m in the mood for something heavier. There''s nothing quite like an icy cold corona in the summer....

Although I love a good pino grigio or margarita, I definitely like wheat beers and lagers.

Have any of you tried Boulevard Wheat? I know it isn''t sold all over the US, but it is GOOD!

My wyf lykes dark bier.

She''s allergic to many mass-produced beers (the artificial hops) but can put away microbrews and beers with real hops.

I did before my blasted allergies struck! I used to lov a beer on a summer's night when I cam home from work.
Now when doped up on anti histamine I love a Corona with pizza OR a Little Creatures pale ale OR a Cascade Light Lager

but it is very infrequent.

beer! FI and I have at least 10 different microbrews in our fridge at any point in time. I love trying new ones and finding new favorites.

ETA: My favorites are Oktoberfest styles - pretty much medium bodied types. FI loves heavy bodied beers, especially the high alcohol variety (if it has 7%+ alcohol, he'll try it and probably love it). I don't really like light styles, except in the summer sometimes and fresh on tap, not out of a bottle.

My favorite brewery is Saranac (went to college in upstate NY and still live fairly close). If you leave in the east, try some! Their Black Forest is by far my favorite, though I'll admit that it tastes way better on tap than out of the bottle (unfortunately only bars in central/upstate NY have it on tap

And I can absolutely drink a 6 pack by myself

Bell''s is my DH''s favorite beer! He really loves the Double Cream Stout, which is one of their seasonal beers. We can''t get it in Atlanta, so whenever someone visits from Michigan, we have them bring it down for us.

I like beer (as I should, with my German heritage!

), but not anything like Bud Lite. Mostly Killian''s or other middle range beers. DH loves really dark beer, which I am not crazy about. I also love the blueberry beers, like Sweetwater Blue.

OUPear - I got started drinking Boulevard when my DH was going to Mizzou - it''s a campus favorite. It was just starting to get sold east of the Mississippi when we got married, so we told our caterer that we HAD to have it (we did this instead of doing a specialty cocktail) and that he''d better stock up on lemons! Because none of his vendors carried it, our caterer had to go to local liquor stores and purchase it in smaller quantities. During the wedding, apparently we drank so much of it that he sent out people and we "cleaned out" Springfield, Illinois of Boulevard for an evening. :) Now it''s a lot easier to find there and a bunch of bars have it on tap. Since DH and I moved to Iowa, about every other bar has it, so it''s not as much of a special treat as it once was, but it''s still darned good. :)

Beer girl here too! Nothing fancy....just a plain old Mic Golden Light. Okay well not plain... I have to have 2 or 3 giant olives in it and it has to be Cooooooooooooooooooooooooold!!

My FF is like this too! I like to tease him about it and call him a beer snob.

Haha it is so great! Unfortunately, the state of Oklahoma has 3.2 beer instead of 6 point. I have had Boulevard in both Texas and Oklahoma, and I have to say that Texas Boulevard trumps Oklahoma Boulevard BY FAR! It is the only beer I have noticed a very significant taste difference between the two states.

So the world''s only large enough for one lady beer lover, eh?

I guess that counts me out, along with the (ahem) occasional Dos Equis (with Mexican food), Pyramid Thunderhead IPA just the right amount of "bite"), Pyramid Apricot Ale (great springtime drink) or BrewItUp Irish Amber (great with their deep fried brussel sprouts!).

But a sixpack at once??? No way. In fact, I can''t think of any guys I''d want to be around after they''d downed a sixpack.

You set the bar awfully -- uh, high, I think -- DF!

I LOVE BUD LIGHT AND CORONA LIGHT

But, I now have SLE lupus and cannot drink anything alcoholic since I''m on a ton of medicines that are toxic to my liver. I may need a transplant one day and don''t want to damage it any further.

I miss my Bellinis and Margaritas and Screwdrivers....YUM!

Lori

Oh, and tequila shots.....Double YUM!

Lori

I am a total beer girl! But then I rarely drink but if I do it will be a beer........

MMmmmm beer - I like any and allll kinds!

My BF LOVES Guiness. I happen to hate it--I feel like I'm drinking beer-flavored milk (ick)

But I love Sam Adams Octoberfest when its cold and a ice-cold Corona in the summer.
18.gif

But as far as drinks go, Tequila is my love...that and a good wine and or champagne with dinner.

In the summer, I love Leininkugel''s (sp?) Raspberry Weiss, and I like Stella Artrois and Blue Moon. If I''m just having a beer to have a frosty cold enjoyable beverage, though, I drink Miller Lite from time to time.

I LOVE BEER!

Part of the problem is that a lot of ladies can''t find THE RIGHT BEER.

Just like pop, or rum, or whatever- there are so many different kinds.

My absolute favorite is Leinenkugel''s Summer Shandy. It''s sooo delish!! It''s made over in Wisc. and it''s mostly sold around there. Ahhh it''s so good on a summer day......... I believe it''s sold April- August or so??? Honey Weiss is also good. A lot of my female friends love the Berry Weiss (it''s fruity beer) but it''s not my thing. I also really like Guinness-- but it''s such a heavy drink that it''s few and far between.

If you can try any Leinies beer-- (and you like beer) TRY HONEY WEISS with a slice of lemon.. ahh my mouth is watering...... mmmmmmmmmm....

30.gif

Oh Blue Moon is good too.. the Leinies version of that is Sunset Wheat... mmmmmmm.....
11.gif

Also, I HATE MGD, Bud, anything Lite.... gag and puke all over (sorry people) but once you''ve had some of those nicer beers it''s hard to go back.

Anyone been to a place called Rock Bottom? I think they are in several states and they make their own beer... they have a nice sampler- where you can get like 5-5-6 beer samples for $3 or something. It''s really good!!!

LOL on the lite beer, swedishbean! I like the Summer Shandy too...and I''ve been to Rock Bottom in Indy, there is one downtown--sooo good! I''ll have to make an excuse to get up there again and sample some brewsky.

I do! My favorites are Blue Moon and Great Lakes Christmas Ale...yummy!

Not at all a conossuier (sp?) but I do enjoy a good beer. One of my faves is Sierra Nevada; their Holiday Celebration Ale is really enjoyable. I tend towards medium beer, not too dark but with some body.

FF loves this place in Atlanta called Taco Mac (I guess they have a ton of beers on tap).

I don''t know how I forgot to add Stella and Blue Moon to my fav beer list, but those are great too!

I''ve always liked beer best of all drinks, then wine, then liquor (very rarely). When I went on a trip to Wisconsin with my mother as part of the trip we went to a winery. I''m over there asking the tourguide why don''t they visit a microbrewery instead!
When my husband and I were first going out it was the 6 pack of Leinenkugels. Our tastes have evolved and my husband is bringing home fancy (and correspondingly more expensive) beers home to try. I just can''t drink like I did when I was younger, and can''t have more than 1 of those high alcohol beers without feeling the effects. I recently found a Bud someone left in our fridge and I drank it with my dinner and (SHOCK) I really enjoyed it. Refreshing and if I wanted more I could do it, so the mass produced have their place too.

The last year or so we were going trying to learn more about wines, focusing on whites during the summer. It seems we are back to the heavier beers and red wine (my husband does the grocery shopping), but I kind of miss the whites!

Well, I own a bar, so it''s almost mandatory that I like beer! But truthfully, I''m not a connoisseur. I''ll drink Girls Light (Coors Light) or a malt beverage like Twisted Tea most often. I prefer my mixed drinks.
