I like #1 the best alone, but I am not sure how it will look with a wedding band. I would suggest giving a lot of thought to the whole picture and make sure you get an engagement band that will look good with the wedding band of your choice. Otherwise, you''ll be looking at spending even more money in the future.

Hello Adrienneg,

I would like to be a fly in the ointment here but I do not like any of those settings. They are a lot of $$$ for a very simple look, I mean for roughly a thousand dollars, I expect more bang for my buck.

It sems you might too as you are drawn to the pave option.

Lots of us here have replaced settings because our tastes have changes - ps does not help there. So I have two points of view, 1)Buy once and buy well, buy the pave if it is your heart''s desire. But be SURE it is worth it. If you change your mind like (like lots of us have) you will have wasted 1.5k. 2) put your lovely ACA into the cheapest (any metal) setting you can get and get that ACA baby home where you can stare at it. That gives you options. Options to keep the simple seting and spend the 1.5k on stone upgrade, options to save more money towards the setting of your dreams (when you are sure what that is exactly) etc.

They both have downsides, #1 You may change yoru mind and perfer a different setting by Christmas

#2 You waste $250 now on a temp setting.

If it were me (and I had my time over) I would put every single penny into the stone* and put it in a $250 setting and stare at it every day. Once I had decided the perfect setting for me I would send it back for re-housing (for another anniversary). [*Would 1.25k ish upgrade your stone now?]

Steel,

You bring up a very good point. I looked at WF''s inventory and the amount I would spend on the setting doesn''t really upgrade my stone in size, only in color & clarity. I was thinking about getting the stone in a nice solitaire setting right now and then buying a diamond band a few months down the road to complete my set, which will run me about another $2K, maybe a little more, so I looked for another stone that is about $2K higher than what I''m paying for my current stone... and it brings up a 1.168 ct. K color SI1 clarity stone. This is much bigger than the .833 stone I''m getting, but also 2 times the price. The only way I can afford this is to hold off on the purchase all togther. I wouldn''t mind spending all my money on the stone set in a $250 setting, if the stone was 1 carat or larger, but I''m not sure about the K color.... and I''m not sure I want to wait.

I''m not sure I want to spend $250 on a setting now and wait to get a fancier setting down the line either... My original plan was to buy a nice size stone I can live with and put it in a nice setting that I can also live with for let''s say 10 years. This way, I can go back to focusing on other things... and focus my savings intentions on other things as well...

I think I''m more confused now than ever...

First off, congrats on what you''ve accomplished! Although I''m guessing you are actually 26 WEEKS pregnant and not 26 months. ;) I''m celebrating 15 years of marraige today and it''s been quite a ride. We were engaged at 19 and he gave me my mom''s ring as a er. I''ve always hoped for an upgrade and just finally got the go ahead. So, just know that it can happen. ;)

Also, the solitare in my avatar is my mom''s engagement ring from my dad. I''ve worn it for 15+ years. Before that it sat in a safety deposit box after their divorce but I know my mom wore it for 7 years before it was sent there. It''s a wg ring. It looks as shiny and new today as it did the day it was taken out of the sd box. So, like the pp said...you might look into reconsidering the platinum.

With that said, I agree with everyone else re: #1. All of the rings you have chosen are beautiful but of the links you provided I would say that #1 is definitely the most timeless.

Good luck to you!
Happy Anniversary! I''m a day late, I apologize. I definitely appreciate your story about your mom''s ring. I always thought that I''d be happy with anything over .5 carat and I wouldn''t ever upgrade unless hubby did it for me, but now I feel like the .833 stone I''m buying is too small! I guess looking at pictures on PS made me see diamond sizes differently.

I''ve never seen the True Love, and though I love that Legato... WOW is that beautiful! So it gets my vote. TRUE LOVE! Plus, I''m a Princess Bride Fan and well, a sap.
Agreed

The Endless Love is fabulous also! I believe the Endless Love is a little thinner than the True Love.

I love the head of the Legato but not how the shank tapers into it. The Legato with micro pave looks better to me and is only $995 in WG. So that could be an option

Good Luck and congratulations. The diamond size you picked is perfect!

I love half bezels, so I''d have to say True Love..and thumbs up for Princess Bride!!
