Which would you keep? 2mm or 3mm?

I vote for the 2mm. I think it looks much nicer with your e-ring, plus I like thinner bands. I like the diamond band even better, though!

I actually like the wider one a little more, but if it''s not comfortable then I would go with the thinner band. The thinner one looks good too, and we should not suffer (too much) for the sake of our bling!
I agree that the wider one is better, but just slightly, and not enough that I would trade in the ring I got married with for it... the 3mm isn''t an exact match either so it''s very negligible. I might be more inclined to keep the 2mm wedding band and change out the e-ring band LOL (if it was important to me that they match and I didn''t like them - but based on what you''ve said I''d keep the 2mm)

Just wanted to throw in a picture of my anniversary band with my e-ring. It''s so much more beautiful IRL than in my terrible pictures!
38.gif
I''d take a picture with *just* the ann band and w-bands and see which two of those look best together and that''d be the one I kept I guess... I love the look of a solid band an ann band together!

I like thin bands, so I like the 2 mm band. I also like the anniversary band with it.

That's the exact type of situation I would debate over and over :) My favorite is your anniv band. I like both of the others. I might prefer the 2 mm just a little bit. But if you would ever wear it solo, the 3mm is my favorite. Is it feasible to keep both? They are really 3 distinct looks!

Like them all actually! But the 2mm definitely doesn''t look too thin for your e-ring, so if it is more comfy, I would just stay with that.

Hiya! I think your anniversary band looks beautiful with the ering. I would bling it up and wear those together whenever you go out! Flaunt them if you got ''em! I''m getting a regular plat band for home/nightime use soon and am also unsure of the width. But I do have a preference for wider bands, I like the weight.

I vote for 2mm because it''s make diamond bigger.
but matchy matchy looks I would say 3mm.

Thanks everyone! I would do individual replies but I have strep throat

and need to go lay down.

The anniversary band I only sometimes wear w/ my e-ring, only because it''s half eternity and tends to spin and I''m constantly fixing it. It gets annoying after awhile. And the anniversary band looks prettier on it''s own but when I want that more formal sparkle, I''ll pair it w/ my e-ring

I''m still undecided. The 2mm I''ve had since April and it also makes the perfect RHR because it''s so comfy! I''m pretty sure I''ll keep the 3mm for the times when I want it to be a bit thicker, more substantial set. Like today, I wore it to my childn''s pediatrician''s office and the set just seemed to fit well together.

I had hoped to have just one wedding band but I guess I''m just the type that needs variety!

Oh well, lol.

Thanks again for all of the replies!! And it seems like the 2mm won

I love your anniversary band with it the best, and love the 2mm band. It doesn''t detract from your ering, and lets it be the star. But I''m partial to thinner bands....
This is my opinion also :)

Feb 2003 bride, I constantly drool over your rings. I really like the 2mm with it the best. But, if you can afford to keep both the 2mm & the 3mm, ooooh, I''m all for that.

Hey, I never did find out I think, but I also have a princess cut... 1.13ct, H/I, SI, 5.5 x 5.5 mm. What are your specs if you don''t mind sharing? I like your size. Oh my finger size is 6.

Hope you fell better

Jeannine

Jeannine,

Aw, thanks so much! After being on PS for so long, I feel like my e-ring just isn''t up to snuff, so it''s so nice to get a compliment on it! But I love the reset you did!

My princess cut is only a 1.06 carat. I''ve got the specs right here:

GIA cert
5.82x5.53x3.95mm
71.4% depth
73% table
VS2, F
Very Good polish/Good Symmetry

DH bought my e-ring from Blue Nile and I love it. I''m not sure where it falls into the numbers catagory in terms of ideal numbers but oh well. It has a firey sparkle and I love it! My finger size is a 6-6.25 but I got the wedding bands in a 6 3/8ths so they spin a bit and incase of swelling, another pregnancy, etc.

The setting itself is a simple platinum cathedral solitare. I love X-prongs but I can''t justify changing my setting for on that for the most part, looks fairly similar.

I think I''m going to keep the 3mm for now (I bought the 2mm from Signed Pieces way back in April and love it) but I may change my mind. It''s nice to have the 3mm for when I want a more substantial set

But again, I may decide otherwise!

Thanks again!!

Feb2003bride,
I''m so glad you are keeping both! Like I said, they are really nice and distinct looks! It is nice to have options.

Just an idea, what about eventually getting a full eternity band in the style of your anniv ring? In fact, maybe you could even use the same diamonds from your anniv ring. I have the same problem - I have a channel set band (mine is not nearly as nice as yours though) and it spins and is hard to wear with my e-ring (strangely, not a problem when worn solo!)

Gail

It''s the best of both worlds! I love having options. You have many now....the diamond band when you want more bling, the 2 mm when you want a more subtle look, the 3 mm when you want a matchy matchy band look.

Yay for keeping both!!! That''s what I would''ve wanted to do, too.
11.gif
It''s great having a wedding band wardrobe.

Your diamond looks much bigger than 1.06 carats! It is a beautiful ring and looks lovely on your hand.

I prefer the look of the 3mm band with ur ering but I do love the anniversary band with it best! Either way, it still looks pretty with the 2mm or even alone.
10.gif

Thanks everyone! I may call SPs today and see if they have a more flattened 3mm band. More like the 2mm one that they made for me back in April.

Gail- I do want a full eternity but since DH gave me my anniversary band, I feel like I need to either keep it or wait until he gives me an eternity one, if that makes sense. I also worry about future ring sizes with an eternity. But mine is the same as yours- it spins when matched with my e-ring but doesn''t move when worn alone. Strange! But you know I LOVE your e-ring setting
30.gif
I did have our engagement date engraved in my e-ring and even though I''d love a bigger diamond, I''m sentimental about mine and just can''t part with it. Unless...
11.gif
DH surprised me with a new e-ring!

Feb bride: Thanks for your specs..wow, .your diamond looks so much bigger than mine. But mine is sooo deep. its 4.5mm deep...so there ya go. But mine has a good sparkle too, I think it perfoms just fine.

I''m with you, I want a bigger diamond being a ps-er, and its just not fair that a same carat weight RB is like a whole millimeter or more larger than our princess stones!!! wahhh! I''m such a princess freak though, I am so drawn to the square stone shape.

Maybe someday dh will let me buy a 2 carat.

But if I ever get re-set fever again, I''m going to copy your set, and get one eternity band & one 2mm..all in platinum.

2 more questions....

Have you ever thought of putting sizing balls on the back of your anniversary band so it won''t spin but will still fit?

How are you doing with your metal allergy?

Thanks so much Carrie!! I love it too, but am still not 100% thrilled w/ wedding band situation - I hope to have a wardrobe of w-bands like you do! :) And you know I LOVE your e-ring too. Your e-ring is so well proportioned - one of my favorite cathedras - and looks great with each of your bands!

I''m hoping for an eternity band sometime, but can''t make up my mind which style I want (and need to finish grad school before any major jewelry purchases!) I agree with you i am concerned with it not being sizeable - just during the time I''ve been married my size has gone up and down a few times!

1. diamond band with ering.

2. when you do not wish to wear the diamond band, I like the 2 mm plat better,

How do you decide when to wear the diamond band versus the plain?

Have you ever thought of putting sizing balls on the back of your anniversary band so it won''t spin but will still fit? I would do sizing balls but I''m so sensitive about the rings as it is (too tight, too loose) that sizing balls would just be an annoyance for me.

How are you doing with your metal allergy? Oh gosh, such a long story! To make a long long story short, it''s not a metal allergy at all but a food additive allergy. Or more specifically, *probably* MSG. I was eating lunch several times a week at a restuarant and my allergist had asked me to write everything down that I ate, from where, etc. She was looking for food additives like high fructose corn syrup, maybe food coloring, or sodium additives. I went to the restaurant website and in everything was MSG!

So I stopped going there and almost all of my eczema is gone. It''s still not a definite however I wera my rings everyday, all day again and so far so good! My hands look decent anyway, lol. The eczema is still on my legs but it''s so much better. Thanks for asking!! I can''t believe anyone would remember my possible bizarre allergies, lol.
