I finally got my idealscope images and I would like to make a selection. The problem is, I don't know which one to pick. The three candidates are:
1) 2.01 cts, H, VS2, HCA 1.4
Pros: $1000 cheaper than the other diamonds, supposedly completely eye-clean
Cons: Dimensions are not as symmetric (8.11*8.00), does this actually matter?, has some VS2 clouds but I was under the impression that clouds at VS2 or above are fine
2) 2.05 cts, H, SI1, HCA 1.4
Pros: H&A
Cons: Has SI1 clouds, haven't verified yet that it's eye-clean
3) 2.08 cts, G, SI1, HCA 1.0
Pros: supposedly completely eye-clean, has no clouds
Cons: More expensive than diamond #1
Which would be the best choice? I think that if the dimensional variances and VS2 clouds of diamond #1 don't matter I would pick it. The problem is, I'm not sure that this is the case.
How much of a measurement variance is acceptible in a diamond? 8.11*8.00 is still less than a 1.5% difference so I assume that it's not visibly apparent. Does it affect optical performance? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
