Hi Everyone,
I wanted to update everyone on the status of my stud journey. You've all been so generous with your time and advice. I followed a little bit of everyone's advice. Now I'm just in the waiting phase.
So I returned the WF 1.6 ctw studs. I tried for a long time to be ok with the size, but every time I looked in the mirror, I just thought, "When can I upgrade? What size should I go up to? How long will it take?" So given what I was spending, I wanted to be excited about the new bling, not just "eh...". Here is a picture of my stone and the earrings from WF. The size difference isn't huge but big enough for me to notice (and appreciate ).
So I went back to Liza at WF and told her I was going to try option #2. And she found me this stone.

I am so excited. We had to go up to 1.207 to match the measurements of the 1.11 I had. I think the G will be close enough in color, and it's an eye clean SI1. I decided to pass on the E I1, as great a deal as it was. To my eyes, the inclusion was just causing too much light obstruction. (Although when it was set, it didn't really seem that obvious at all.) I am sure this new stone will be amazing.
So in a way I did compromise with the cut. If I had kept both 0.8 WF stones, I would have had two ideal cut stones. However, because I really wanted a larger size, I used my old e-ring stone, which was cut before the GIA had cut grades. My old GIA cert didn't even show the cut grade. I have to say that I love the sparkle on my stone. It's so random all over the place. I wish I could attach a video the stones next to each other and the ering stone sparkles just as much as the WF stone. That's what I see anyway. The picture below shows the new stone next to my old stone. Mine is on the right. (Well, they're both mine now. ) I'm really happy with the size and color match. And maybe with the sparkle pattern, I'll be able to tell them apart.
Now...just two more weeks to wait. WF has to recast my settings since the new stones don't fit the old settings. I have to say platinum is really nice to my ears. Healed up real well after I put those platinum studs in. My ears miss them...
