Whiteflash 5mm Sapphire Bezel Studs & SBTY bracelet

Oh, love those!!! WF did a great job with the studs! They are made like the real Tiffany ones with the rounded back. I like that a lot!

Except, Tiffany applies multiple treatments to its sapphires whereas I specified with these WF sapphires that the only acceptable treatment was traditional heat, with which they complied. I think all their sapphires are heat-only.

I've shared a link to Tiffany's Gemstone booklet below, which outlines the gemstone treatments it accepts. Sapphire is cleverly hidden under "Corundum, Blue" and it says, in addition to heat, "Infused with colorless substances to improve color and clarity." And for yellow sapphires, they use diffusement treatments in addition to infusing and heating!

For this reason I wouldn't buy gemstones from Tiffany unless their guidelines state no treatments or heat only.

Oh God. I've just added it all up. Eleven thousand. I feel faint. I am so going to the pub now. It's purely medicinal. It's Enerchi's fault, anyway, for making me focus on the Smith Jewels as a whole! Well, this is just the DBTY portion.. :naughty:
    And I'm gonna take the hit for $11K??? I just wanted a picture - not the total!

lol!! Too funny!! Get yourself to a pub, Smith - have a Guinness and drown your sorrows. I'll have a drink with you - think of me as helping you from afar!!

Thanks, everyone!

Enerchi, it cost me $38 plus tip to feel strong again. A pizza, two glasses of wine, a Bailey's, a Coke and a bottle of Pellegrino!

Ah... but worth it!!! Bailey's is my kryptonite... I can NOT resist the siren song of that liquid heaven. One sip and I'm hooked --- I have zero resistance! When DH offers me some--- I have to say no because I just think its liquid dessert!! And sooooo rich.... but good for you for just having 1!!

At least it didn't cost you $11K again! Look at the bright side!!

But it was a big one, Enerchi! They're rather generous around here, KWIM??

Agree with you about Bailey's. I did ask what desserts they had, but I decided to have a Bailey's instead. It was better!

Beautiful DBTY's and I really love those sapphire bezel earrings!!! Looks gorgeous on you Smith!!!
And I second (or third or fourth) getting a picture with all your DBTY's!!! :appl: :cheeky:

I love these!! I have a WF sapphires by the yard necklace and sapphire studs to match (the studs are from a local jeweler but look very similar to yours). Great taste!!

Thanks everyone!

And Katie, we definitely have similar taste in jewellery! We NEED more neck shots of your new BGD necklace! And have you put your sapphires on SMTB?

Wow, Katie, thanks for posting those! They're GORGEOUS!   We are jewellery twins, aren't we!

How often do you wear your sapphires? I probably don't wear them as often as my diamond jewellery. I read what you wrote in one of your links that your family weren't all like "oh wow" about them, and I agree that people have no idea what goes into these pieces of jewellery!

My stones in the necklace are 0.13 ctw but I don't know what that is compared to your stones. I actually wish the stones in mine were quite a bit bigger. My bracelet stones are 0.20 each and they are much more visible.

Thanks! We are definitely jewelry twins! I wear my diamond stuff more than the sapphires and I sometimes feel sad that nobody I know really appreciates jewelry like I do. I've trained my hubby pretty well though. :-) I probably wear the sapphires once every couple of weeks.

The SBTY is .50 ctw and there are 7 stones - just like my DBTY. But the sapphires are so much bigger. They are a great size. I wish the stones in my DBTY were bigger.

I love your collection - awesome By the Yard goodies!!
