777 Lady, Movie Zombie, Storm, Monarch 64, Fly Girl, Sera, Something Shiny, AmberWaves, Maisie, and Gemma - Thanks so much for the congratulations and well-wishes!
Hlmr and DeeJay – you are both WAY too sweet in your kind comments, and I am touched by your votes on confidence. Suffice it to say the high regard is WAY mutual; you ladies are a pleasure to know.
Sparkalicious – thanks so much……and FORGET IT. You are NOT going to guilt me into giving up a toe ring!
DKS…..my dear, you are one of my most favorite posters because I completely relate to your irreverence! LOL. When I read your posts, I’m often doubling over laughing in agreement. Gosh, I wish I’d thought of that moniker before….Chainsaw Babe sounds so much better than Chainsaw Al! LOL Thanks for your support.
Garry……us? Disagree? Naaaaaaaaaaaah. Never! And my dear, I invented the dark side!
Thing2 and Kay, you’re both so nice to offer such warm comments, and I appreciate your support. Thank you.
Kimberly, don’t worry about the numbers; they’re just a precursor, and never more important than the eye. I’d hate to intimidate anybody (except, of course….RICH. ), so please don’t be. I’m just Al, and still sincere in wanting to offer help and a bit of humor.
Lop…..LOL. An institution. I don''t think I could call myself an institution with a straight face! I DO know that over time people have thought I should be “IN” an institution for my diamond craziness
Charger…..YAY, because I love Alj, so Alj it will still be.
Lauren……awwwwwwww, thanks SO SO much! Coming from you who has such a long history with Whiteflash yourself, that means a lot. Thanks for your support. I know you''re pretty local for them, so hopefully our paths will cross one day.
There are no new diamonds in my immediate future, so I get to just lurk and learn and drool for now. But when the time comes, I''ll be full of questions and questions and more questions and I know you will be one of those who helps, because you are just so fabulous (and quite the funny one!). Congratulations, again! I''m so truly excited for you. They couldn''t have picked someone better for the job.Date: 2/3/2008 12:27:11 AM

I have no idea how I missed this, but congrats to both of you!!!
and Alj, I must confess I''m throughly confused by the Allison D. thing having met you with another name... I don''t know if I can juggle 3 aliases, so I''ll just keep thinking of you as Alj.I haven''t bought anything from WF yet, but now I can say to DH ''Remember that lovely lady we met on the boat in MA? Call her and pick something out for me!'' I like this...
So, is this why you did not adopt my heart sawing avatar???Date: 2/1/2008 1:43:53 PM

WOW! I’m just overwhelmed at such support…..not that I expected anything different from PSers!
I was quite surprised and flattered when Whiteflash approached me to discuss a position as their Consumer Relations ambassador.
When I first came to Pricescope, there weren’t many regular consumer posters, and we all helped each other learn. Today, Pricescope is tremendously robust with many core posters, which makes it easier for me to move into a different role.
Part of what’s always appealed to me about Pricescope is that it gives consumers a voice. Because I’ve been a consumer for so long, I think this opportunity gives me a way to strengthen that voice from a different angle, promote things I know are important to consumers, and it provides me with a fresh way to add value here.
I’ve been posting for more than five years now and I’ve really come to cherish this community. The most important thing is this: I’m *still* me. I’m the same person I’ve always been, and I look forward to continuing the many relationships I’ve built here with you. Those relationships are truly important to me.
I want to make this transition in a way that is completely respectful of Pricescope policies, and I want it to be as transparent as possible. To avoid confusion, I’ll no longer post as “aljdewey.” As a female on the internet I worry about security issues, especially since I am working remotely, so my public ID for Whiteflash will be Allison Dewey, and I’ll now post as Allison D.
So many of you are used to calling me Al and Alj, and I’ve grown fond of it, and this makes the transition clear I think: I want people to know that it’s still me; just in a different role. So please, do keep calling me Al/Alj so I feel at home….and so I know you’re talking to me!
It also means…… *sob*….I’m going to have to retire the chainsaw!!!!!!!!!!!!I was going to gift it to Mara, but it’s not chic enough…..unless she put a B-bag logo on it!I’ll be happy to loan it out on a rotating schedule, though, for interested parties. Since Mara''s out of town for a few days and may not see this for a bit, I''ll consider Belle as first dibs! GO FOR IT, Belle! I know it''s in good hands with you!
Other than parting with my beloved chainsaw, I’m happy for this new role and hope for your support. Without the long-timers and fresh faces to keep things interesting I would not be the hard core fan of Pricescope I am today.
Wow!! Massive congrats to both John Q and Alj!
John was integral in helping me understand the small nuances of ''painted'' upper girdle facets...and tirelessly answered my questions. For that, I am not only grateful, but confident that you have found your passion and will find success in your new endeavors.
Best of luck – I’ll look forward to re-acquainting with your new name!
Alj / Allison – This is fantastic! I cannot think of a more deserving person. I think this will be mutually beneficial, as clearly you love talking diamonds, and clearly, we love talking to you *wink*
Seeing this ‘promotion’ gives me hope that someday, somehow, I too can transition my love for sparkle from pure hobby to something with financial rewards.
That said, Can WF PLEASE open a Canadian office so I can come work for you??? I think you’d have a built in staff; based on the Canadian contingency here on PS.
