Whiteflash or idjewelry for Vatche settings?

Dear all,
I have decided to use one of the Vatche settings for my diamond, however I'm not sure which online retailer I should use. I know Vatche does not do business with individuals, so I have to first mail my diamond to the retailers. Since both Vatche and idjewelry are located in NYC, it seems to be safer in terms of transportation: my diamond only travels once from where I live to NYC. Idjewelry also gives me a lower price quote.

But Whiteflash's website seems more professional. They even have a whole section called "Working with Customers Diamonds and Jewelry", which gives me a lot of useful information about insurance and how this process works. Their price quote is $300 higher than idjewelry, but everything is so intuitive and clear on their website (e.g., how to initiate the order and payment method). The downside is that they are located in Houston, which means my diamond needs to first travel to Houston and then to NYC. That seems to be riskier than one single trip to me.

What is your preference and suggestions? Do you have any experience on this? Thank you very much!

I believe that Yuketiel of IDJ used to work for Vatche. You should give him a call and ask about it. He is a very nice guy. I have not bought anything from him, but I visited recently.

I had a bad experience with WhiteFlash and cannot recommend them.

My Vatche setting came from Good Old Gold in NY, but any of these vendors should be fine for your setting. I have had nothing but great service from GOG and WF, and IDJ has done fine with Vatche settings as well.

On the other hand, is there not a jeweler in your area that carries Vatche? Because that would possibly make more sense since you already have a diamond.

Thank you! The nearest Vatche carrier is 2-3 hour drive, and I'm pretty busy for the following months. So you think it's better to give the diamond to the retailers directly, instead of mailing it to them?
