I like the new website. Although I noticed that when I did a search for the serial number, my diamond no longer says "sold." I need to contact them about that.

Otherwise...it is an upgrade. And I do like the darker color. But hmmmm....part of me likes the old one.

Doesn''t work for me either on Safari and my mac.
Like the logo!

Ok...Old report search/sold goods: I put it on the list, thank you.

Hi John,

I found your new site by accident this am, and couldn't get the search for other shapes to work. I was trying to search for emerald cuts, and it kept coming up with rounds. and, I guess there are no more emerald expert selectons? too bad...

I am using Safari, and other than getting this search to work, the site seemed to navigate fine at first blush (I didn't spend a lot ot time navigating through it besides the stone search engine, which I tried several times, but always got rounds).
Right lop. At this point we're concentrating on round, princess and XF in Expert Selection. I would be remiss if I didn't tell you the new AGS Emerald Cut metric and cutting guidelines have Brian's attention, though...

(Lop & Indie) I have a friend who is a 'big league' Mac crackerjack. I asked him to check out the site. He reported no problems with the most recent Safari, but had trouble when he used an older version. He just gave it a once-over (he's not a diamond kind of guy), so there may be quirks lurking. Appreciate your report.

I can''t figure out out to *steal* the pix of the claw prong Asscher studs. I''m afraid I need it for, um, research ... yeah ... that''s it. Or ... inspiration, perhaps!

Any chance you Whiteflash folks can post it in the non-flash Pscope gallery??? Pretty pretty please???

Yeah, kinda ex-girlfriend + X-box.

Hey John, let''s call it a Fairy Princess?
We''re still partial to X-Factor around here...but the beauty of PS is exposure to many voices, opinions and ideas. In the words of the great Dean Martin; keep those cards & letters coming.

Firefox user having some problems here, although it seems to work for the most part. I''ve attached a screenshot of what''s going on when I try to search for diamonds, although I had to majorly shrink it to make it small enough to fit the attachment size requirements. (It never quite finishes loading, either.)

I''m not quite sure which I like better, although I think it would be interesting to see what some of the guys here have to say. I know that when FI was looking around at jewelry sites online, he remembered the darker ones (perhaps because there are less of them?). In some ways, I feel like it looks more masculine.

Cool new site and everything seems to be working from my end!!! Having fun exploring.

Ahhhh! Thanks John! I was getting really worried.

Thanks for the screen shot. I sparked up Mozilla and got the same thing earlier. The programmers are working on this tonight/tomorrow.

Research huh? We have no problem with that.

You can do this for a quick snag: During flash, when the image you want comes up, right-click it and un-check 'play.' You should be able to capture a screen shot (lo-res). I do have the image in normal res and will be glad to provide it to you.

Deco, we just posted them in our section of the PScope Gallery as well.

I like the new site! But I''m missing all the earring options that I could view on the old site. At least as of last night, I couldn''t find build your own, and of the expert selection I didn''t see any basket settings or princess cuts.

Also, I LOVE the X factor! Hope to see more pictures soon!

Love the new website. Don''t really care for Flash stuff in general, but i think you folks used just enough. I hate websites that use extensive extensive Flash for navigation and browsing (ie: cartier, ritani, damiani etc.). Sometimes the site will have an HTML version of the flashed page, but it usually ends up looking like an afterthought. And navigating flash pages takes sooo long, even with a cable modem. I want to get to the next page NOW, but then have to wait X amount of time predetermined by the flash animator for the animation to move and fade away to the next image/page/location within the flash file. I think the new WF page has a nice combo of flash accents and regular html page layouts that allow you to navigate much quicker than a whole flashed site with flashed navigations would be. I also like the new backgrounds to the ring pictures too. kind of has an other worldly/spacey feel to it.

Logo looks ok to me. just a bunch of W''s- what happened to the F? Definitely better than the old, although i will miss the old logo. I like the color scheme. And maybe its just my monitor, but when i''m looking at a diamond''s details page at the Color section, the what should be ''near colorless'' G-I stone pictures look sooo yellow.
example of what i''m talking about:
d_none.gif
e_none.gif
f_none.gif
g_none.gif
h_none.gif
i_none.gif
j_none.gif
k_none.gif

or is it just me seeing that?

ps: i''m using firefox 1.5.0.3 and macos x 10.3.9 and don''t seem to have any problems with the site.

Hey Doppler/Doppleganger - Thanks for the comprehensive feedback.

It's interesting how many people either love or hate flash. We'd like to strike a balance. I mentioned before that the gallery movie will become an option. We're now planning to modify the main page to cycle once through and stop. Until we do so that blonde will keep changing poses for you.

The backdrops for the ring photos were done presuming that 'enlarged' photos would be a bit bigger than they currently are. There could be some adjustment there. This reminds me; earlier in the thread someone mentioned 'simulated' photos. In case there was any question, the jewelry photos are actual subjects, placed on (as you said) 'otherwordly' backdrops. One of our photo department guys wanted me to be sure to clarify that.

The Firefox hiccups have been fixed. People using older versions of Safari reported trouble, but new versions seem ok. One thing that may have been a problem early-on for everyone is that it took some time for the changes to propagate through the www. The links should all be pointing the right direction now.

Anyone who tried to link to a stone in the PS searches the first day couldn't because those links had to be updated that night by our system.

The programmers aren't diamond guys, so the color scheme chosen to represent descending hues of yellow may not be spot-on with our master stone set. I love that comment, and will put this on 'the list.'

Hey, if we turned those diamonds face-up do you think they'd appear more near-colorless?

We appreciate the comments, D/D.

John,

The new site is beautiful and I love the x-factor stone! Are y''all going to be getting a lot more of those? I can see an octagonal halo in my future! Lol! I noticed some new settings, too. Very nice overall changes! Congratulations!

Thanks John, I''ll stay tuned on the new AGS emerald cuts. In the meantime, under more searches, if you try to search on emerald shapes, only rounds come up, after having selected emerald as the shape. I didn''t try other shapes, but this search engine doesn''t seem to be working right.

I like the new site, but miss the simplicity the old site provided.

I was looking for .30 stones for earrings (on ES) and on the new site you have to enter the stone size, where the old site it showed what is available.

The old site also added the stone''s prices on the bottom if you chose a pair for earrings, the new site does not (I miss this function).

Could be just me not knowing how to navigate the new site yet.

The site looks beautiful.

Am I doing something wrong when I try to look at the expert selection stones? I keep getting stones that don''t have idealscope images when I adjust the search parameters. It''s almost as though I''m getting directed over to the search engine for all stones. And what about expert selection fancies?

Are you going to put the archived/sold diamonds up? A lot of people have their previously purchased diamonds linked so people can view the reports/pictures but old diamonds are no longer listed.

propel: the "sold" diamonds are still listed if you know the source code. I know because mine is still there.

How long ago did you buy yours, though? Because I cannot access mine either, and my pendant is new since May.

I checked this tonight and believe it’s been fixed, but if you experience it again let us know. There are still a few fancy shape searches we’re adjusting; for instance, an oval search from the drop-down works fine, but from the shapes page it returns old miners. Thanks, Lop.

True. This is because the ES search has been updated to function with more precision. The old system forced specific ranges like 1.00-1.19ct / G-H color / SI1-SI2 / $6000-$10,000. That was fine for a smaller inventory, but as the company grew it became overload for someone who knew specifically what he/she wanted... For instance, a shopper looking for a near-1ct H/VS2 or G/SI1 round for <>$6K would have to execute 2-4 searches to find all of the candidates, and those searches would return pages of diamonds outside of the parameters. We hope you'll find the greater precision available more helpful.

No, you’re doing it correctly. This was fixed but seems to have come un-fixed. Sorry about that. If there is a question, any diamond identified as “stock available” is one of the Expert Selection stones, in our vault. “Call for availability” is a supplier’s stone.

Regarding ES fancies, we’ve increased the number of round, princess and X-Factor diamonds for ES. We have access to all other shapes and will gladly work with your requests.

We appreciate your comment about the look of the site.

This was also on the list, pr0pel (and Alj). I’ll get an update on where we stand.

Is anyone else having trouble viewing certs? I''ve tried with both Firefox and IE and neither allow me to view them.

Alj: John seems to have already addressed this, but I bought mine recently like in the last couple of weeks, so that maybe why i can still look up the stone using the source code. My worry was that on the new site it was still available *for sale* and of course that made me a little nervous. But it''s now been rectified.
