I know that members here normally suggest purchasing whiteflash inhouse diamonds. The thing is it seems virtual selections are a few K cheaper in the 1.5 range. Are they lower quality or is it just hit and miss? If it's just hit and miss and you are not in a rush wouldn't it be worth it to have whiteflash pull diamonds until you find a good one? I realize they might charge $75 shipping for each one or something but still?

Virtual stones don't afford some of the same benefits in house stones offer - no buyback or upgrade program, lesser inspection period, no PS discount.

they make it so that buying in house is the better deal though it costs more

Most vendors can order the stones from virtual lists. I prefer WF for their outstanding stones that they have specially cut for their inventory. However, if you want to buy a virtual stone, I suggest dealing with a company in NY since they can usually pick up stones from suppliers and it is less costly to look at them. In fact, WF requires payment up front for virtual stones and I personally might want to compare a couple.

I like Good Old Gold because they will check light performance and take videos of the stones. But if you want rock bottom prices with just a stone photo and idealscope image, then check out B2C Jewels.

Here's a gorgeous option from JA - they have videos and certificates already available online. You can put up to 3 on hold and they'll give you idealscope images.

What's your budget? The above stone is perfect for someone with a budget because you can hide that inclusion with a prong and it'll look perfect! But if you like you, you need to put it on hold so someone else doesn't snatch it up!

I would not recommend k color for an engagement ring. But 04diamond, we can't see the links on that JA beta site.

DS,

If you create an account and log in, the links work. But then you spend time looking at all the pretties, so maybe it's not a bad thing that you have to have an account and log in. :naughty:

None of these are worth pursuing, in my opinion.
The first J gets a 4.1 on the HCA, the second J a 3.7, the third J a 3.7, and the fourth J a 4.3. The deeper the diamond, the greater the chance that it will entrap color, and if the stone is a J to begin with, it's already likely to show tint from the side.

I agree with DS that K is too low in color for an engagement ring, unless you've seen K's in person and like the warmer color. It is likely to show color from the top and the side.
