Here''s a question for anyone with experience in shopping for diamonds online.

Mondera: http://www.mondera.com/Diamonds/product.asp?mscssid=TSDLLQMDHQHNCLLPOIENQUAOEMDXBGZE&partno=403997

Whiteflash: http://www.whiteflash.com/pear/Pear-cut-diamond-142348.htm

Both of these diamonds have absolutely identical specs; however, the Whiteflash diamond is $400 cheaper. Is there a difference that may not be shown by either website? Am I overlooking something? Could it be the 10-day moneyback guarantee at Whiteflash vs. 30-day return policy at mondera?

Thanks in advance.

They really are identical . . . funny !!! I'd go with the cheaper one from WF.

This happens a lot when you use the Pricescope diamond search feature...I say go with the cheapest! However, I know that some/most? vendors charge to set stones from other vendors into their settings, so that''s something to keep in mind if there''s only a small difference.

Same thing happened to me when I purchased my diamond from Uniondiamond. They were charging at least 1000 less than WF and mondera for ? reason, I never found out. They charged me a further 1000 for a custom diamond setting in platinum which I think was pretty reasonable.

Go with the cheaper vendor of course.

Just to point out, even though they are identical in ever listed number and grading aspect, the 2 diamonds are indeed different ones as seen by comparing their GIA reference numbers.

they are the same diamond hikerchick. only the mondera site shows the actual gia report number, the wf just has an item number.

Well, that makes so much more sense. I was really shocked they were so similar and the same . . . guess I should look a little closer. :)
Thanks belle

Thanks for the responses guys! As for the setting, I''ll probably be getting that done somewhere local, so I''ll just go with the cheaper stone.

just make sure the local jeweler will cover your stone if it gets damage or at least have the stone insured yourself..
