Who here like Tanzanites?

LD, didn't you once mention being interested in tanzanites of unusual colors - orange or green?

Not really interested in but do own some! I've got pink, orange, green and yellow (oh and lilac but they're not quite the same)! Not sure why I'm so off them at the mo ...... mind you, am off gems in general at the moment ....... I wonder if I'm cured?

I have a little green zoisite that sparkles like a fireball! It's the top stone in this trio, which I set as a 3-stone pendant. Does anyone else (including LD!) have pictures of your differently-colored zoisites? I'm being technical here because you can't really call non-purple/blue zoisites "tanzanites." By the way, the bottom stone is an Asscher-cut tanzanite, probably the nicest tanz in my collection.

The blue was selected because it only shows blue. Likewise, the purple shows only purple. Most tanzanites show both purple and blue at the same time. The green is more saturated than it shows in this picture.

Here are the 2 x green, 1 x pink and 2 x yellows. Just realised I haven't taken any photos of the orange. It's a gorgeous orange-orange-orange though!

Oh that purple one is ugly. You should get rid of it! Pack it up carefully and send it to me for disposal right away! :Up_to_something: :naughty:

I love all 3, but that purple one is TDF!

Gorgeous stones, Andelain. I'm having a tanzanite cabochon being set right now. I can't wait to see what you do with all those pretty stones! :))

You do realize I want to see your tanz, don't you? :wavey:

Here's a rough sketch of what I have in mind to do with the 17 ct and a couple of the smaller ones. I'm not sure if I''ll use ovals or pears for the drops, right now I'm leaning toward ovals. I could even put thin halos around the drop stones.

Another option I've considered is to turn the 17 ct sideways and put a third, slightly longer drop in the center.

Hi Andelain! My tanz is still with JKT, Julia and I have both been busy and my stack ring project got pushed back. Hopefully it'll be done soon. I really like your necklace design. I think your tanzanites would look amazing set like that. :))

Here are a few pictures of my tanzanite with some garnets:

Here is my tanzanite in a diamond halo for your viewing pleasure. Maybe it will help you decide which shape you want in a halo.
