Hi, Everyone.
I know how experienced all of you are in vendors. I need someone who can recut a fabulous Tourmaline. It has quite the window. I think if it was recut .... Spectacular!! Please help. Also, how pricey is it to do a recut? t's about a five-carat stone.

I think if you repost this topic in Colored-stones you might get more response...

Yes, you'll have no problems getting replies in CS. Please post the stone specs though. That will help a lot.

Good luck with the recut...CSers are pros. Cute kitty!

I can't answer you question about a recut, but your kitty is super cute! Is he an American Shorthair?

Yes, he is.

Hit report concern on this post and ask to move it to the CS forum! You will get a response in minutes I bet. Those ladies know their stuff!

I highly recommend Jerry Newman of Gemart Services for lapidary/recut services - http://www.gemartservices.com/ - take a look at his website (his email is listed there too) and contact him with your stone's particulars and he'll let you know if it is a good candidate for a recut. His prices are extremely reasonable especially considering his expertise, and his turnaround time is usually within a week of receiving the stone. If you search his name in the Colored Stones forum, you'll find lots of praise for his work... He is also listed in the Colored Stone forum's sticky thread re: respected PS vendors.

(Over the last couple years he has cut three stones for me: (1) an Indicolite in an opposed bar cut, (2) a blue-green tourmaline in a square brilliant cushion with checkerboard top; and (3) a Tanzanite in a cut-corner rectangle. I couldn't be more pleased with how they turned out.)
