It is just the fancy macro photography equipment that makes them look like big honking museum pieces.
Here they are on table salt crystals which gives an idea of scale.
Kenny- Simply stunning!!

I rarely see DiamondIdeals name anymore, I bought my wife's ER there, couldn't be happier.

Kenny,
What kind of photography creates the colored look in the octavia photo (778.png)?

Are you purchasing the diamonds without having seen them in person (i.e. just viewing the certificates, ASET images, idealscope images, etc. online)? Or is it typical to arrange a meeting where you can view your diamond in person before purchasing for these online vendors?
Thanks and sorry if this is a dumb question.

Not dumb at all. You can do both, if you are in or willing to go to Texas. Both my stones have been purchased online. You do see
a picture of the actual stone, and all the reports that go with it. You have a lab report that shows you the inclusion pattern.
With Brian's signature stones, and some others, they will look at the stone and tell you if they are eye-clean to your specs. The best
thing about dealing with Brian and Leslie is that you can trust what they say. Brian is an expert cutter and his methods for cutting
and choosing a beautiful diamond are great. Sometimes, on certain stones, you will find a note that Brian has added that says,
"this is an amazing stone" or something like that. That, is a great find in my opinion.

Thanks for the quick response! I live in NYC so Texas is quite a hike for me. When you say that both of your stones have been purchased online, do you mean without having seen them in person first? How does that work exactly? If you order the stone without viewing it first, I would imagine upon receiving it, you would immediately get the stone independently appraised to see if you received what you ordered and to see what kind of value you got? And if then appraisal is not up to snuff, you just return the stone within the allotted number of days? What is the typical number of days for a return policy (for BGD for example)?
