This was my first love
Our sweet boxer dog
He was a huge mush
So grateful we got to have a dog growing up
My very first experience with true grief when he died
But a valuable lesson of unconditional love
And despite the terrible pain when he died
I wouldn't change a thing

Who was your first love?

Peter Scot
hav'nt been able to remember his name for a few
when we were six
his mum used to be parent help when we went to swimming

I don't know his name, however, I was the photographer for my school's sports team that participated in a sporting event involving other schools.
I was 13 at the time.
There was this boy about 17yo from another school, and I thought he was gorgeous, to the point that I sneakily took some photos of him using my long zoom lens.
I still have his photos tucked away somewhere.
It was then I realised I liked boys and could not be a lesbian, and my mum worried for nothing!

I said to my dh many decades ago that while he may not be my first love he’s my last love ♥️♥️♥️

It just dawned on me why I have avoided posting in this thread.

Honestly, only now do I realize that I never had a first love because they were all something less than what I have now.

So my DH has to be my first love.

My first love was a boy called Henry from Primary when we were 8. We “fell in love”. His family moved to South Africa when we were 11 & I have no idea what happened to him after that. We used to play on the swings together & I was devastated.

And then came Morten Harket from A-Ha when I was 11, singing Take On Me through the TV to me. Swoon! I still love him (have seen A-Ha in concert 11 times now, most recently in 2019) & even though he’s 64, he’s hardly aged a day. Mr T knows that I would leave him in a flash if Morten rocked up & swept me off my feet. What a hunk of Scandinavian goodness :kiss2:

Oh haha this one is really embarassing, I had a crush on a boy from high school who eventually asked me to the senior prom. I was very unpopular and he was super popular so I ended up both shocked and deeply fond of him. We were maximally incompatible though and I suspect that we ended up at prom together because of a PE elective for CPR training, where I was half passing out because the teacher kept recounting bloody accidents and what he had done to 'save the person'. I don't like blood so this poor boy kept chatting to me all semester to keep me distracted and not completely passed out on the floor from the visual images of bloody mangled bodies. Other than that -- I was very unpopular; he was super popular -- he was a national champion level athlete who went in to training to become an olympian, I tried to run 500 m and just about expired and I was fat -- I was dux and actually got the top score nationally when I graduated (I shared this 'top' of my country with a few other people though); I dont think he was the academic type. We were ridiculously different. So the whole thing was just irrational. I had oddly completely forgotten about it. He was so sweet though, I remember him taking our bus tickets and folding them into oregami and then the bus captain tried to check the tickets :lol-2:

I love this story! Opposites definitely attract & you can never perceive or guess what qualities somebody else finds attractive. He obviously had great affection for you & will definitely think of you fondly. And I bet all the other girls were MADLY jealous!

At the time, I thought the current b/f was but then I met DH, and realised he was the one! Nearly 47 years later, he’s still the one and only, and always will be.

I loved Davy Jones! In 2008, I was at Walt Disney World and he was doing a concert at Epcot. I got in line the minute World Showcase opened and waited all day in the sun for a front row seat. Back then, I only had a still camera, but someone taped it and it's on You Tube. At the very end, I can see the back of my head. I had a great time.

I'm at 32:27 with the brown hair and black jacket :)

I love that you sistas had matching dresses. My Mom dressed us that way, too. And my hair was up like your sister in a few annual photos. I knew we were separated at birth!

he sounds like a really nice boy who im sure grew into a really nice man
it may not have been everlasting love but its a really happy story
dont put your younger self down

You know what I marvel about? The huge capacity we have to love, get our hearts broken, and love again. In fact the more I love the more capacity I have to love more. With each furry baby my love grows and my heart expands and with each loss it breaks and scars and heals but I have never ending capacity for love. It's truly quite amazing.

@qubitasaurus lovely story thank you for sharing

I love hearing about your celebrity crushes.. I don't remember having a crush on any celebrity unless you count swooning over Paul Newman and Robert Redford hahaha

Luckily my DH is my only real crush. Sometimes I pinch myself because I cannot believe it's real...from someone who never wanted to get married I just cannot imagine my life without him. I was never one to believe there is only one soulmate for each person but in my case I do believe that. No one else could fit me better. No one else could make my heart sing more or nourish my soul more fully.

Your lips weren't my first kiss
but they are the sweetest.
Your arms weren't my first hug

but they are the strongest.

You weren't the first to catch my eye

but you are the one to keep it.
You weren't the first to say "I love you"

but you were the one who meant it.

Together strong, we grow through time
With silver strands and laughter lines,
In every glance, our hearts still shine.
Though age may come, our spirits soar,

Together, dear, forevermore.

Is it crazy I never heard of him lol

Maybe you remember this song:

Lucky you! He was adorable! We all loved him. I liked Mickey Dolenz, too.
Do you remember when Davey was on the Brady Bunch?
