Hi everyone,

My fiance and I are interested in this wedding band for him: http://www.brilliantearth.com/Horizon-Sapphire-Ring-Platinum-BE222S/

We are looking to have it custom made and I was wondering if you guys had recommendations on who would be the cheapest vendor to work with (without sacrificing too much quality). We are hoping to have the ring made in platinum, but we're open to palladium and white gold as well.

Also, who would be the best person to get the small sapphires from? I was thinking of Gemfix, since I've worked with them before, but I would love to hear other recommendations. Or would it be easier to have the vendor source them?

Thank you so much!

I am a really big fan of Chris Williams on Etsy. Here's her store....

I really like her designs and she'll work with all metals. Plus she's really easy and nice to work with. I find her prices to be affordable.
Love the look of your ring btw - congrats!! :appl:

The melees are so small that it makes better sense for the vendor to source them (and get them to match both in size and colour).

Platinum will be expensive irrespective of where you go (especially for a man's ring because of the weight). It's good you're open to other metals because I think if you're concerned at cost, that may be the way to go for you. I have to say that for a platinum (presumably weighty) gent's ring, the link you provided is expensive but not horrendously so.

@jbkhere - Thank you for your recommendation! I've contacted her, so we'll see what she says!
@Chrono - Yes, that makes sense. Thank you!
@LD - Hm, that's true. I didn't really think about how much heavier a man's ring is. I'll be seriously considering using other metals then.

This shop also has a great selection of men's wedding bands with similar style and material options are great. I bought my rings from him and highly recommend to anyone!
