There was a good Op Ed piece in, "The New York Times" on the important effect Edwards has had on the campaign, forming much of what both Hillary and Barack are now saying about some of the issues, especially health care. It was, at one point, the most e-mailed article ("The New York Times" keeps tabs on that for those who are interested). Although Edwards will not be president, he had an important effect on the Democratic platform. More power to him and to the other unabashed liberals who stand up for the poor and downtrodden, those who cannot speak for themselves, those who have been forgotten and left to sleep on city streets for the past few decades both by Republicans and Democrats while Bill Clinton signed a welfare "reform" bill.
