Why are ladies at bridal shops so MEAN?!?!!

Doesn't that blow. I have offered to donate one of mine in hopes that the other will redistribute itself into 2 normally sized boobies.

First of all let me just say that Ame, you're a hoot!

Second of all...AG, that's just plain mean and nasty. What a rotten thing to say. I'd probably be pretty paranoid myself about saying something before you have your dress..but after that I'd have to say let 'er rip!

That is IF she's even still working there!
You look absolutely gorgeous in your gown. Radiant! By the way..does this woman wear glasses?? Maybe its time for a new Rx!

I agree that it was the rest of the ladies, it was probably jealousy and an attempt to get extra money from you in alterations.
I had a great experience with my sales lady, but when I went in for my fitting, the seamstress didn''t look too pleased that I only needed a $25 bustle. She commented on my being tall and how I saved $150 not having to hem the dress. This made me feel pretty good until she commented that I''d "better not GAIN another pound or might not fit it." WTF was that about? It came out of nowhere!! At first I was really angry,

but I realized that she was just a pathetic little person who isn''t worth the emotion. I''ve come to the conclusion that the hotter you are, the snottier the help will be, so try not to let it get to you.

not kidding--i''m prob gonn go shopping for the victoria''s secret ''cicken cutlets'' as soon as my dress comes in!

Ginger - I work at victorias secret and even I wouldn''t pay the price they want for their "chicken cutlets" ($4.. I got mine for $20 on amerimark.com I won''t buy my bras anywere but VS.. but for fake boobies.. I''ll go elsewhere.

Speaking of people saying mean things about you in your dress.. My one co-worker..one I consider a fairly close friend, one I''ll confide in and stuff, she''s invited to the wedding etc.. when I showed her my dress pictures.. all she said is.. "You look too stiff in these pictures! You need to not be so stiff!" I''m sorry.. but it really hurt my feelings. This was 4 days ago.. and its kind of been stewing inside of me.. EVERYONE else I''ve shown the pictures too has told me how beautiful the dress is, how it makes my boobs look big.. at least found SOMETHING nice to say.. and that was ALL she could say.. Maybe I do look a little stiff in the pictures.. but GRRR..
I don''t know.. I am blaming it on the fact that she quit smoking 3 weeks ago and isn''t completely thinking about what she says (she is always one of those people that says whatever crosses her mind..but she usually only has nice things to say!).. Then last night, I was eating Nachos, my favorite food, which I eat, a little TOO often.. and she walks by and says "You know, you''re going to LOOK LIKE A NACHO soon"...and then said "We''re gonna have to eat Nachos at your wedding.."

I know it doesn''t sound that bad, and she WAS kind of kidding.. but if you knew how she normally is..it is is a mean thing for HER to say, and maybe I was still a little sensitve over the dress comment.. and the thing is.. she wouldn''t ever say anything that she really thought would hurt anyone.. I want to give her a cigarette just so she''ll start being nice again!

It probably has zero to do with you and is all of her own insecurities coming to the surface. But seriously, those comments are way out of line!!!

BR - no no no.. she''s not a b!T@h at all!! That''s the thing! she''s like the sweetest nicest lady in the universe. Never has anything bad to say about anybody! Thats why her saying that stuff hurt my feelings so much! I don''t know.. I think I''m sensitve lately.. either that or people at my jobs are just saying a lot of offensive things lately..

Arrgh... don't I just HATE those! It is not like these salespeople lack training, but common sense too. Too bad, really.

The best I've ever got was this saleslady comming straight at me while I was stil basically one step inside the store from the doorway and telling me 'nothing in this shop fits you!'.

I think there was no customer inside this butique to begin with and she was obviously talking over her cell phone. Perhaps that was a tactic to provide a long break for herself ? The saleslady was right (that was a ladish shop with medium to large sizes and I wear 34)... but I was shopping for my mother's birthday for crying out loud ! How could she possibly said that ?

Amber, you should not give those people a second thought. They probably know no better. And, I must say, salespeople in the US are not the nicest to begin with. It helps to have this European social state making such jobs attractive for better employees. Not that the odd picking never happens anywhere, but those in the US were simply hateful. 'Bet they do not know what to do with customers, really. Unless you buy something before even entering the shop, no way they are going to waste a smile. Tips seem to make most angry... And I am not sure their curtesy is any better than the off-color jokes

Actually... is the dress in the picture your final choice ? It looks regal on you! I am trying to picture what a longer veil would look like with it, but it does not need any help ti suit you beautifully.
