Why not welo bead bracelets?

Being that you can't see them much if they are around your neck, I'm wondering why you don't see many Welo bracelets? I'm looking into getting one made, though. I'm not that much of a bracelet person but I think this is the way to go with these. Yes, I know not to get them wet much when I wash my hands. Is there anything I'm missing on this idea, though, (meaning why it might not be a great idea)? Thanks.

Aren't opals prone to breakage? A bracelet will definitely take more of a beating than a necklace.

Ah, I forgot about that !

Thanks, CM !

I've seen bracelets for sale, but as CM said, you would have to be careful with one.

Durability and more abuse as a bracelet.

Thanks Chrono ! :wavey:

Just wear it with care, and I think it's a great idea. You can actually enjoy the colorplay in a bracelet.

That's what I did with my welo opals. I strung them into a two bracelet with small pearls. I love them, especially in the sun! So pretty!

Yes, I agree with the above post, it is a durability issue, however, some of that issue can be remedied with protective settings. When there is metal work sitting higher than the Opal then the Opal may be spared in the case of a blow. Of course even these are not for everyday wear with brick layers etc. Opal is best worn as an occasional piece in bracelets and rings despite the mount but there is a tremendous difference when they are in a guarded position. I am putting one in a ring now and though it is fairly well exposed to the light, it is not highly exposed to getting bumped or scraped. The challenge in designing something protective is to allow good gem exposure at the same time and not add protection that is likely to get caught on sweaters and obstacles.
